Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The only way to shift some of these guys is buy replacements and show them they will not be playing.
Yeah, but if they still don't wanna leave, well you can't force them out...they have a contract. And then we're fucked cause that's a big squad, a lot of wages...and a fair few unhappy players having a bad influence in the locker room.

Always best for the new manager to have a brutally honest conversation with them upon taking over, then they know what the score is. Of course they can still refuse to leave, they have big wages here. And in Biss and Richy's case, the ego is massive...they genuinely see themselves as top players who deserve CL football at Spurs.

Might need to pay them to accept.

Completely agree, it's a bit of a nonsense because not only do very few teams actually utilise a specialist '6' in the modern game, but the ones that have stand out players in those roles such as the trio you've mentioned are actually exceptional players predominantly because of their ball playing ability, alongside a good reading of the game defensively.

Its funny because one of the most impactful defensive players in midfield of the last generation would be Kante who wouldn't even be called a 6 by most people, yet he would do the work of 3 players in terms of defensive contributions.
If he wasn't ex-Scum and not been playing OAP football in Saudis the past 2-3 years, I wouldn't have minded Kante. At his peak he was unreal, incredible player. Imagine Archie, Bergvall and Sarr learning from him every day.

Six - Biss (unless you are thinking he’s done). Although, for me, him and Bentancur have had their chances and not taken them. Sarr hanging on by his fingernails too.
100%.

If all of them were sold this summer, no Spurs fan should shed a tear really.

They've underperformed time and time again. All have had injuries. Biss and Bentancur obviously got the attitude problems and off-field issues.

Playing well for a few EL games against AC Shymbozo, FC Klook and Sporting Boonani don't mean you deserve another season.

Baleba, Sesko, or Oshimen. In fact sell Son and Richie and get all three Danny ..Make it rain.

Hustling Make It Rain GIF
Do everything to get rid of Drag, Biss and Richy...even Bentancur...and Kulu.

Use our special relationship with Real to get 70-80mil for Romero.

Have fun in Wrexham, our Gentle Ben.

A glorious adios to Sonny after the SK trip...fuck me, who's chopping onions nearby.

Buy Guehi, Robinson, Baleba and Osimhen.

Finish in the top 3. Make the CL quarters. Win the magnificent FA Cup.

I think Kudus and MGW are just about in the realms of affordability bearing in mind we can make a sale or 2 later in the window.

But if we bid for Adam Wharton or another high profile player in the 50/60m range then something has definitely changed in terms of investment.

At the moment I'm skeptical because I've heard this talk every transfer window for decades and nothing ever materialises.

The club can spend 120m a year net without straining the finances, especially if we get CL. What is weird is we triggered a release clause without lowballing. That is unprecedented.

Wharton would be the dream signing this window.

He's would be the closest I have seen to Carrick in a Spurs shirt.

It's the missing piece really. A deep lying playmaker who can knit everything together and progress up the pitch.

Haven't seen much of Wharton before recent links so watched him

Very good on the ball and anticipation, but very young & had a lot of injuries

Would prefer someone experienced in that position
The kid looks like an Owen Hargreaves regen. Very good on the ball, but just a look at his injury record and you'd get a detached retina and a collapsed lung.

I wouldn't sign him for 30mil, let alone 80.

Assuming we get MGW over the line, that's a solid start to the window with he & Kudus. Let's not ruin it by signing new Sessegnons, Ndombeles or Lo Celsos.

Agreed. When Palhinha is available as well i'd be going all out for him. Gives us that player we don't have and a proper leader in the middle
