Yeah, but if they still don't wanna leave, well you can't force them out...they have a contract. And then we're fucked cause that's a big squad, a lot of wages...and a fair few unhappy players having a bad influence in the locker room. The only way to shift some of these guys is buy replacements and show them they will not be playing.
Who in their right mind agrees to a release clause that can’t be spoken about![]()

If he wasn't ex-Scum and not been playing OAP football in Saudis the past 2-3 years, I wouldn't have minded Kante. At his peak he was unreal, incredible player. Imagine Archie, Bergvall and Sarr learning from him every day.Completely agree, it's a bit of a nonsense because not only do very few teams actually utilise a specialist '6' in the modern game, but the ones that have stand out players in those roles such as the trio you've mentioned are actually exceptional players predominantly because of their ball playing ability, alongside a good reading of the game defensively.
Its funny because one of the most impactful defensive players in midfield of the last generation would be Kante who wouldn't even be called a 6 by most people, yet he would do the work of 3 players in terms of defensive contributions.
100%.Six - Biss (unless you are thinking he’s done). Although, for me, him and Bentancur have had their chances and not taken them. Sarr hanging on by his fingernails too.
They can keep him. He's really not that great.
Do everything to get rid of Drag, Biss and Richy...even Bentancur...and Kulu.Baleba, Sesko, or Oshimen. In fact sell Son and Richie and get all three Danny ..Make it rain.

I’ve always said a Roy Keane would transform any team.Keane was simply brilliant. Ridiculously demanding which is why I think he gave up on the managing but as a footballer/leader, few were better.
The kid looks like an Owen Hargreaves regen. Very good on the ball, but just a look at his injury record and you'd get a detached retina and a collapsed lung.Haven't seen much of Wharton before recent links so watched him
Very good on the ball and anticipation, but very young & had a lot of injuries
Would prefer someone experienced in that position
Really shot ourselves in the foot with the uber opportunistic Tel signing.I don’t see it. Expensive and more likely to see an existing player take that role eg Tel, or Richy for now
Agreed. When Palhinha is available as well i'd be going all out for him. Gives us that player we don't have and a proper leader in the middleThe kid looks like an Owen Hargreaves regen. Very good on the ball, but just a look at his injury record and you'd get a detached retina and a collapsed lung.
I wouldn't sign him for 30mil, let alone 80.
Assuming we get MGW over the line, that's a solid start to the window with he & Kudus. Let's not ruin it by signing new Sessegnons, Ndombeles or Lo Celsos.
Yes on the profile, big nah on the name...Palhinha is bang average.Agreed.When Palhinha is available as well i'd be going all out for him. Gives us that player we don't have and a proper leader in the middle
