Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I woudln't be surprised if it comes out that other clubs have previously bid more than the release clause and Forest just did not tell the player. Bit like when Woolwich tried to buy Suarez.

The kid looks like an Owen Hargreaves regen. Very good on the ball, but just a look at his injury record and you'd get a detached retina and a collapsed lung.

I wouldn't sign him for 30mil, let alone 80.

Assuming we get MGW over the line, that's a solid start to the window with he & Kudus. Let's not ruin it by signing new Sessegnons, Ndombeles or Lo Celsos.

Weird comparison, he's nothing like Hargreaves. Hargreaves was just a run around a lot type player, causing a nuisance, Wharton is far more accomplised on the ball and with time and space.

Also Hargreaves was ridiculously injury prone.

I really wanted Palinha at Spurs when he was at Fulham. My concern with him is he's not cut it at Bayern and that is the level we want to be reaching.

But he would obviously improve us, and I'd certainly not say no to him.

You are massively being unfair on Hargreaves. He was a quality player on th eball and dictated the tempo of th game whilst reading dangerous situations / having defensive nous. Also took a wicked free kick. He was made of glass though.

Wharton would be the dream signing this window.

He's would be the closest I have seen to Carrick in a Spurs shirt.

It's the missing piece really. A deep lying playmaker who can knit everything together and progress up the pitch.

Imagine our midfield options, depth and longevity with these players in our squad:

Wharton, Bentancur, Gray, Bergvall, Sarr, Gibbs-White, Maddison, Kulsevski

Exclusive image of Nuno telling Skipp that the release clause in Gibbs White’s contract is £60000025 and not to tell anyone else. Marinakas can also be seen and tells Skipp that he hasn’t eaten for ten minutes.

Think thats what we need though. MGW,Maddison,Bentancur,Bergvall all good with the ball but not really the type to break up play

I think if you're playing in that position you need to be able to play, the 6 role has kinda moved on now...you need someone to be able to progress the ball especially when you see a lot of it.

I fully expect Palace to demand Declan Rice type money for Wharton.

Hopefully we have an alternative option lined up
Gray! I think this boy is a perfect 6, with Bergvall alone side him in the midfield. Granted Gray he had a couple of questionable games when he did eventually play there, but this boy has sooo much football intelligence I think he could play anywhere.

I'd like to see a double pivot of Gray and Bergvall, with the latter pushing on to support MGW and Kudus.
We don't need a new 6 imo. Put that money towards getting Esteve/Robinson.
