Ok MGW is training with Forest this morning. Good chance Spurs could have told him to behave correctly while this gets sorted and to play ball with them.

However, it means this deal isn't as advanced as we had all hoped! I'm worried that this deal could potentially fall through as maybe we did breach some legalities and if so, Levy might just back down.

I have the same view that if he goes back to Forest today then I’m not confident it will happen . I also feel If we had acted legitimately then the club would have come out with some kind of statement .

He doesn’t come across as the type to act up. I fully expect him to be training with them today if no progress has been made on the deal.

Edit: I see he has. Honestly don’t think it makes any difference. Probably would make it worse if he didn’t turn up.

Move on. If he wants to come, even if he really fits what we need, still move on. We don’t need this shite all summer and I’ve no doubt that Marinakis will drag it out and the Prem are as useful as a pair of double D’s on a nun.

We should have had it tied up over the weekend and moving on with plans for our DM - hopefully Wharton.

Yeah I agree. He doesn't seem like that type of guy plus I'd imagine Spurs instructed him to play ball and not to give this Forest owner any more ammunition.

Unfortunately, it just means the deal isn't as advanced as we'd all hoped and this could drag on another while.

I don’t think it’s bad news for you if he turns up to training today, to be fair to him, he is very professional. Hes still under contract with Forest. Will be majorly awkward for him though 😂. Smartest thing to do would be for Nuno to put his arm around him and take him into his office to discuss. If he’s 100% committed to spurs then both club and player need to work together amicably.
I wouldn't be surprised if Nuno had more than a bit of sympathy for MGW.

The last thing MGW should do now is give them an actual reason to get angry and complain. Just stay calm, do what you are supposed to do and the deal will probably happen within a couple of days / a week. Spurs shouldn't make a silly statement either and make things more messy.

hmmmmm.

We're gonna pull out of this more then likely.
If we've done something illegal that can be proved in court then I'd imagine we will pull out.

None of us know for sure whats happening behind the scenes. I hope its just a case of MGW being a total professional while he waits for Forest to accept their fate. But if we did approach it illegally and Forest have a genuine case, then I don't think we'll want that noise and we could pull out.

wouldn’t surprise me if levy stuck in a lowball offer knowing it would get refused and shat his pants when he realised he had activated the release clause and told them to come up with an excuse to call the deal off !!

Well the Forest journalists are now reporting that MGW is expected to begin pre-season training today. If he shows up and does the training session then that would indicate that we are still a bit away from completing this deal.

I'm not worried about MGW staying at Forest. He clearly wants to leave and join us. However, I am very concerned about this deal being hijacked by Man City or Chelsea. They are now both aware of the release clause of 60m and could offer MGW more wages than us to agree personal terms. The longer we hang about, the bigger this danger becomes.
All that indicates is that he's a good pro and until told otherwise he's a Forest player, glad to see he hasn't thrown his toys out the pram and is getting on with it.
