As part of the negotiation. Maybe it was 80m with no NDA or 60m with an NDA and the latter was more valuable to him.
We don’t know how things played out but there are plausible scenarios.
Why would a player or agent leak the info? They thought it would work and of course it’s going to be impossible for Forest to prove that the information was leaked if they’ve been clever about it.
I will say to caveat all this that something being plausible or possible doesnt make it true.
Why pay for ideological guff? Anyway, back OT?
What happened to your self imposed exile from this thread?!This is why I think the deal has to happen. MGW needs it to happen. Otherwise his entire release clause becomes invalid as its lost that confidentiality. And by the looks of it the owner will not let him go unless he has a release clause so his only alternative will be to run down his contract. MGW needs this deal to happen more than anyone else concerned.

I am pretty nervous and need the tension relieved… but logically I think we get this done. It might take a week.Yeah loads of speculation I guess
I don't think we have done any wrong doing in this though, I think someone has told us what the clause is and we just activated it and Forest are throwing a hissy fit.
Is this guy actually ITK? I know he broke the Bergvall injury news..

Mate if it were me I would have done the medical on Friday, signed a contract, announced the player publicly, then sued Forest for failing to deliver the player's registration and had MGW sue Forest for breach of contract.

And opened the club and player up to so many legal issues and liabilities. (With such a blatant breach transfer bans and points deductions wouldn’t be out of the equation)Mate if it were me I would have done the medical on Friday, signed a contract, announced the player publicly, then sued Forest for failing to deliver the player's registration and had MGW sue Forest for breach of contract.
But MGW would have to have wanted to do those things. He clearly does not.
I had similar with Talk Talk. I got a phone call from them offering me a SIM which I declined. When I binned them off for another provider, they sent me a letter demanding that I pay for the line rental accrued on the SIM. I responded to advise that I refused it, I didn't receive it and it would be on their records (recorded for training purposes) that I'd refused it. Nor had I signed for receipt of any SIM.Once moved into a gaff where the previous owner owed some money. I used to RTS the letters but after a couple of years starting reading them.
"We are considering legal action (LA.) "
"We are really, really considering LA."
"This case has been referred to our really, really considering LA dept."
Etc..

I don’t think anyone else will come in for him because it’s messy and they’ll have to deal with Marianakis on a mad one and it’s legally unclear whether Spurs have a right here. Nobody is entering this hornet’s nest.
I have told this story before, but I met someone who used to work in debt enforcement.I had similar with Talk Talk. I got a phone call from them offering me a SIM which I declined. They threatened legal actions, so I told them to go ahead as the burden of proof was on them. They ignored that and continued to threaten legal actions for a year, without actually following up on their threat.
They then sold the "debt" to a debt collection agency, and I went through the same rigmarole for another year. It was then passed onto another and I told them the same.
This went on for 4 years until I got a call from a solicitor asking for the money. I told him exactly the same story, told him that I'd pay when Hell froze over and challenged him to take it to court. After that, he ended up asking me to settle for £10, so I laughed at him and said goodbye. After that, nothing.
In essence, it's corporate entities trying to "bully" money they aren't owed from the gullible who are frightened of threats of legal actions which is, in essence, all that this mob are trying to do.
Shoulda told that story 4 years ago...I have told this story before, but I met someone who used to work in debt enforcement.
Every time you RTS a letter or contact the firm you keep the debt "alive".
Just ignore the letters etc and the "debt" disappears.
At this point I think its becoming clearer.
We MUST have done some wrong otherwise why not full steam ahead and us moaning at them?
Not happy tbh, we really really needed this one. Hes a player that would have solved a hell of alot for us.
I know a man that sounds perfect for that jobIn essence, it's corporate entities trying to "bully money they aren't owed from the gullible who are frightened of threats of legal actions which is, in essence, all that this mob are trying to do.
