Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think 99% is a bit high and you can't really forget the performances can you... there is a reason Bayern were happy to let him go and whilst no top club was rivalling us for his signature.
Getting a much-hyped talent like that on a loan-plus-option was a gamble with massive upside and very little downside.

Buying him for a cut-price 30M after his weak performances for us is another gamble with somewhat dimmed upside and considerably more downside.

Same player, still a young talented kid whose path might go in a lot of different directions, but one of those transactions was a lot more favorable to Spurs than the other.

We are on a website called 'the fighting cock' encase you hadn't noticed.

We are all different people with different characters, there is no normal buddy.

Maybe SC is more you're type of place, and so too Airfixx Airfixx , you both would fit like a glove there.

Ironic, cos you seem to react REALLY badly to people challenging you; whether it be in terms facts (or at least what you present as fact) or opinion (which yeh - as you say - we all have).

Btw; any reason why you brought someone's nationality into it?

(....And before you wine - French pun, geddit? - You just tagged me.)

Was referring to the option of buying him... same player but he has now cost us 30m and if he keeps travelling in the same direction as last season then we've done our dough... AGAIN. He doesn't scream world class to me but we live in hope that we can sell him for 150m to Madrid in a couple of seasons.

Let me ask you all an uncomfortable question here - why is it exactly that people have turned all doom and gloom after MGW thing?

Let me take step sideways here (before I come up with my theory) of my thoughts and emotions regarding that saga.
First of all when I saw "Here we go" post on him, I asked "WHY??!??!". Cause quite frankly now as well as then, I don't get, why should we sign a 60m player into position where we have THE MOST competition and ability already? Where we have Madders, Kulusevski, Kudus and even potentially Bergvall?
Then, in bit of time I came around to it, cause he offers quality and boosts the numbers, and then... possibly... Frank wants to play some different kind of formation maybe? With 2 CAM? Or play Kudus and or MGW as wingers.
As the situation dragged on I came more indifferent about it.
And now that it collapsed, I really do not care that much.

Because - and I cannot repeat this enough - there are MANY OTHER POSITIONS THAT NEED WAY MORE ATTENTION. I'd be much freaking happier if we'd now repurpose this 60 mil for buying world class DM. Like Ederson from Atalanta for example. It makes so much more sense and improves the side so much more. We need DM, another good fullback and even a striker so much more than another AM.

So now coming back to the question in first paragraph - this all situation just looks like reaction of 5yo after seeing a shiny toy in the store. Getting to hold the box for a moment and then get it taken away and put back on the shelf. I can literally see some way over the top bitterness, some real immaturity.
OR alternative theory I came up with is that the reaction is combination of MGW deal collapsing AND the fact that there have been no other deals at the same time that would improve the squad. Eg - even if this deal fell through, if we would have signed a DM/fullback of potential starting quality, then the reaction to this bit of news would have been much calmer. I really hope it is the latter theory here :D .

I was banned there because I called out itks for making stuff up.

And now you’re here saying that Frank wanted a meeting with Lange and Lange turned him down?

At least give us a cryptic or something fun if you’re going to make things up. Sad.

It was a badly worded joke, a terrible one indeed.
You really thought there was 'lange stood up frank' itk from some 'weird' bloke on a forum called 'the fighting cock'?

Le parisien - its important we deal with the facts....abit serious don't you think?

Well, we can't really bullshit a player into signing with us, so if this journo is telling the truth, maybe there is new money coming in? Hard to believe there's a new owner, though.

Ah, shit. I've fallen into the trap again, haven't I? I'm getting my hopes up.
Take 2 of these three time a day and you will soon return to normality. If Levy can bullshit forty thousand season ticket holders and the hundreds of thousands of fans around the world then some kid from Brazilian favelas isn't going to be an issue is he.

So the video is saying we are talking to Rodrigo and telling him it’s a project with lots of money and a new owner coming in. Do we just bullshit our targets.

“Some won't remember, but I do. What it cost to get Bale and Modric out of Tottenham for Levy. Hey, legitimate. It's just as legitimate now to say, "Look, it's true that we would sell him to other clubs for 85 million, but for you, they're 100 million, just as non-negotiable as the players we worked so hard to get from your club."”

hilarious how every club knows Levy

Yeah, I just didn't see it at all with him. Works really hard and always trying things, but just doesn't seem in tune with the game and his teammates. Does that magically get better as he matures?

His highlight reel at Bayern has a bunch of banger goals, and every last one of them is like Bayern's seventh in an 8-1 rout of Heidenheim or something.

Is this a player made for the crucible of the Premier League? I guess we will find out.

Madrid got a bargain with those two, especially Modric.
