Let me ask you all an uncomfortable question here - why is it exactly that people have turned all doom and gloom after MGW thing?
Let me take step sideways here (before I come up with my theory) of my thoughts and emotions regarding that saga.
First of all when I saw "Here we go" post on him, I asked "WHY??!??!". Cause quite frankly now as well as then, I don't get, why should we sign a 60m player into position where we have THE MOST competition and ability already? Where we have Madders, Kulusevski, Kudus and even potentially Bergvall?
Then, in bit of time I came around to it, cause he offers quality and boosts the numbers, and then... possibly... Frank wants to play some different kind of formation maybe? With 2 CAM? Or play Kudus and or MGW as wingers.
As the situation dragged on I came more indifferent about it.
And now that it collapsed, I really do not care that much.
Because - and I cannot repeat this enough - there are MANY OTHER POSITIONS THAT NEED WAY MORE ATTENTION. I'd be much freaking happier if we'd now repurpose this 60 mil for buying world class DM. Like Ederson from Atalanta for example. It makes so much more sense and improves the side so much more. We need DM, another good fullback and even a striker so much more than another AM.
So now coming back to the question in first paragraph - this all situation just looks like reaction of 5yo after seeing a shiny toy in the store. Getting to hold the box for a moment and then get it taken away and put back on the shelf. I can literally see some way over the top bitterness, some real immaturity.
OR alternative theory I came up with is that the reaction is combination of MGW deal collapsing AND the fact that there have been no other deals at the same time that would improve the squad. Eg - even if this deal fell through, if we would have signed a DM/fullback of potential starting quality, then the reaction to this bit of news would have been much calmer. I really hope it is the latter theory here
