Wonder who were the other three.

Eh, somewhat fancied.Funny thing is he was quite fancied here when before we eventually hired Ange.
Like Frank in that same summer, he was thought to fail the "attacking football" mandate that everybody pretended to have as their truest and deepest conviction in the wake of Jose/Nuno/Conte.
It was, and the similarity of his formation to what we'd been building under Conte plus the personal relationship with Porro were big pluses, but it HAD to be "Tottenham DNA" that summer and he was found lacking in that regard, as was Frank. His stock was quite high on the so-called modern manager list having helped Sporting surpass Porto & Benfica for 3 out of 5 seasons + had the added bonus points of mugging off the scum in the Europa.

It was all a bit silly, but that was where this board was at that time.
Now Erik Ten Hag was a different story, everybody LOVED him.
I was convinced he was the next PepCount me out of that "everybody", ta.... I called it.
So did our board tbf; when they flunked him for his interview.

adaptability, getting your players playing to their strengths, rather than some silly wedded philosophy.Amazing how Thomas Frank has completely changed THFC playing style inside 3 competitive games, with barely any significant new players, compared to Amorim at United.
Amorim, let's not forget, has been there for 44 games and spent over £200m on new players for his system and they still can't play football.
There are managers out there who would already start planning their exit after a summer like this.
Conte went sour the moment his first summer transfer window closed.
The funny thing is he said that he's starting to fall in love with this club.
I think fans just generally make much more of the turmoil that goes on in our club, the key is normally to look at the manager's mood, he's happy being here as it's his biggest job and a massive challenge that he's relishing.
We'll see where he is with this club in a couple of years time.
He did say that, indeed.
He’s almost certainly a better person than Conte who was just obsessed with winning and started forcing his way out once he realized it was beyond him to win in these constraints
Ange figured out that only one trophy was winnable under these constraints.
Poch nearly worked miracles. Let’s see if Frank is the final boss and an actual miracle worker
They'll be happy with this as long as Frank's goals of impriving the players and maybe bringing a couple of players through the youth system or something...
Amorim is a fraud, he has no second option. Even playing Bruno, on his day the best 10 in the league he plays him as an 8. Still most United fans back him, his win ratio over a full season is relegation. He is drowning at United mostly due to his own stubbornness as to his style of play. He continues to want a ball playing keeper dispite not having defenders in front of him showing for the ball.Amazing how Thomas Frank has completely changed THFC playing style inside 3 competitive games, with barely any significant new players, compared to Amorim at United.

This horrific transfer window failing to bring in any fullback, AM, or wing depth despite losing Madders/Son/Kulu/Udogie to injury will definitely contribute to injuries though.Conte didn't want to be here from the get go and thought he was too big for us. The club have put of that they want to compete in all comps but it's another typical vague statement as we don't really know what it means.
My guess is:
Top 6 finish
Qualify from the CL group stage
FA and carabao QF/SF

I think Frank is capable of that unless we have a mad injury crisis like last season.
