You can’t pin him to one set style either, because he adapts to what’s in the squad and who’s across the pitch. That sort of variation and pragmatism is seriously impressive.

This isn’t just some manager who had one good season with a smaller club and then lucked into a bigger job. He spent eight years at Brentford, working on one of the tightest budgets, yet turned them into a decent mid-table side with clever signings and by squeezing every drop out of the squad.

And don’t forget, he brought most of his staff with him from Brentford, and they’re playing their part as well
One of the reasons I’ve always liked him is that he wasn’t a player of any note, but made it to elite coach level. Why? Because he’s good at it !

Not only did I say this at the time to shrieking from ten or eleven hard core Angebois some of the pro Enic bots that like to.come over as the voice of reason flat out called me a liar.

I was told some really odd stuff about Postecoglou and his willfull stubbornness. He finally differed to Wells and lowblocked the Europa. Its why I said zero progress had been made because I wasn't sure how he could look his players in the eyes and make them play the tactical mess again. Players had stopped buying it. From Kulu Maddison to damn Radu Dragusin there WAS dissent. It was a mess.

What we are seeing under Frank was exactly what a small few of us called. Players like Sarr and all the fullbacks messed up by a footballingly illiterate system. I got sick of telling people the SPL the A league, the J league...this is the premier league .
Yeah, remember you saying what was going on and it completely rang true.

Thank god it's over.

This is where the likes of Mourinho & Conte went wrong in their approach/application - when we were defending for long periods/up against it, the team didn't have the instruction/preparation to do anything but defend so we ultimately got pushed back further and further - so far with Frank yes we are setting up with a clear plan to defend and nullify but it's seemingly there as the first step toward regaining possession and then to attack with purpose thereafter - it's not just a means to an end

We're still being pushed further and further back, and Frank literally said so at half time.

There's a lot to like but its early days yet. The squad depth will be challenged once the mid-week games start. Its a long season.

Home v Bournemouth will actually pose our biggest challenge so far under his tenure. Not in terms of quality of opponent but in terms of expectations.

Bournemouth are a quality outfit again this season. Alot of energy and drive about them.

We will be at home and the onus will be on us to control the game somewhat and ultimately win the fixture.

Bournemouth have to tools to give any team the run around and hurt them. It will be a difficult balance to strike between sitting back and being solid and attacking enough to hurt then without becoming to open for them to exploit the space.

Arguably our most interesting and important fixture yet.

I've genuinely heard that Mason, Wells and a few senior players just took control of tactics for those games and completely sidelined Postecoglou.
I didnt hear that but I just assumed it was the case. He was so stubborn in his My Way or THe Highway beliefs, no Plan B, Its not what we do mate, I couldnt see how that 180 screeching hand break turn could have happened any other way.

My first thought it was like Italia 90 when Robson was out of his depth, could only draw with a pretty uninspiring Ireland and the players said Boss, this is how we set up from now on.

Can't believe we're still talking about this nonsense.

The players/coaches didn't ignore Ange in the Europa League. It's crap designed in order to not give Ange any credit.

But to get back on thread, Frank seems like the right man for the job and will hopefully take us to higher glory.

I think it’s a pretty routine home match we should win. But they are no mugs and we have to be at it 100pc from the whistle

That's why they look shite , the players are all over the place trying to find it .

Fernandez looks lost playing so deep , cost them the equalizing goal , stood and watched his man from the edge of the box .

Would love Fernandez here if he wasn't such a sook .
