You can’t pin him to one set style either, because he adapts to what’s in the squad and who’s across the pitch. That sort of variation and pragmatism is seriously impressive.

This isn’t just some manager who had one good season with a smaller club and then lucked into a bigger job. He spent eight years at Brentford, working on one of the tightest budgets, yet turned them into a decent mid-table side with clever signings and by squeezing every drop out of the squad.

And don’t forget, he brought most of his staff with him from Brentford, and they’re playing their part as well

These are literally the qualities Alex Ferguson had. He adapted and evolved, season after season. Kleberson and Djemba-Djemba? No problem, still find a system to win with what I've got. Park Ji Sung man marking Pirlo to nullify Milan's orchestrator, that too.

These are the types of things I see in Frank. A gameplan for any day.

He was my number one choice to take over Ange from the beginning.

Mine too. I just never thought he’d take the job.

I think he will still want that player to play the role damsgaard had at Brentford as an option in his squad (that was earmarked for madders). We need to get him that. I’m less worried about out wide at the moment, despite being adamant we needed strengthening there earlier in the window. It’s such a mess, our wide positions that it can’t be sorted out with a week left of the window. The ten can though. Scour Europe for a ball playing attacker in his late 20s who can play the role. There will be one, he might not be a huge name but there will be a player out there who can do the job. The recruitment team just need to do theirs.

Preparation AND adaptation is everything at the highest level. I think Frank is very good at both and his teams always seem to play with a clear purpose and every individual knows exactly what is being asked of him in a certain match and how team mates can help each other (look for instance at the brilliant defensive work off the ball by Kudus yesterday).

Last minute we turn them over we flooded 5 or 6 forward looking for it. Great to see

This is where the likes of Mourinho & Conte went wrong in their approach/application - when we were defending for long periods/up against it, the team didn't have the instruction/preparation to do anything but defend so we ultimately got pushed back further and further - so far with Frank yes we are setting up with a clear plan to defend and nullify but it's seemingly there as the first step toward regaining possession and then to attack with purpose thereafter - it's not just a means to an end

Which is, again, the point of hiring him. Frank was hired primarily because the club expect he can make the players we already have reach their potential - not to spend another £200M rebuilding the squad.

Supporters are well within their rights to not like that approach, but it was the approach nailed on as as soon as Frank was hired. And no doubt Frank was well aware of this from negotiations.

And, again, I want better players and a deep squad.... but if this is what we have been buying the players we have for, then they along with Frank deserve the chance to show if they have what it takes.

The players we have been buying the last few season have been bought for the best to be gotten out of them. By whatever coach we have. We aren't overhauling this squad any time soon

I wasn't sold on Frank but the most impressive thing about yesterday was we thoroughly deserved the win. It wasn't some spawny smash and grab. Levy has to give him a couple of difference makers right now because everyone on City's bench would stroll into our first 11. Eventually the weak options from the bench will catch up with us. Glad I was wrong about Frank. He now needs properly backing.

Also keeps the oppo from pushing everyone up knowing we can get that many players in support late in game.
Kerps them on their toes

He even gives you the Ange aura quotes with actual tactics. This is the biggest upgrade at any position in our club since when we went from Rasiak to Berbatov

Brilliant 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻

This is simply accurate. It was soul crushing trying to completely brain washed cultists last season. It was crazy how poor the tactical set up fitness periodisation and general coaching was last season. It was horrible . We had a buck naked king with the dummies convincing each other he was wearing robes

I've genuinely heard that Mason, Wells and a few senior players just took control of tactics for those games and completely sidelined Postecoglou.
Not only did I say this at the time to shrieking from ten or eleven hard core Angebois some of the pro Enic bots that like to.come over as the voice of reason flat out called me a liar.

I was told some really odd stuff about Postecoglou and his willfull stubbornness. He finally differed to Wells and lowblocked the Europa. Its why I said zero progress had been made because I wasn't sure how he could look his players in the eyes and make them play the tactical mess again. Players had stopped buying it. From Kulu Maddison to damn Radu Dragusin there WAS dissent. It was a mess.

What we are seeing under Frank was exactly what a small few of us called. Players like Sarr and all the fullbacks messed up by a footballingly illiterate system. I got sick of telling people the SPL the A league, the J league...this is the premier league .

Chris Cowlin said the open training sessions under the two different managers were quite a contrast.

Just want to thank Casscarino for reminding me of that hellish triumvirate of games Chelsea Newcastle Liverpool away we're Ange made us hold eleven slaps. Ffs right where's that mirror

he listens to people and shows them respect. Doesn't sulk and appears to be getting the best out of our talented squad of players. Looking forward to the season with him as the leader. The club has done well here.

I agree he's an awesome manager and communicator. But we also haven't lost a real game yet. Or had a losing streak, etc. Gripe all you want about Ange but I think he gets too much flak on the interview front because people LOVED him at a similar stage and much further. The difference was, he had to KEEP doing the interviews with loss after loss after loss. There's almost never been another manager to be in such a position because they all get fired.

But, I love Frank and when I really thought about it, he became my top choice early on. He's just an awesome manager which translates to every level imo.
