Player International Break Watch

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Without being presumptuous seems the international break went as well as can be expected. Only really Richy, Ben and Bentancur played any significant minutes since the weekend . Romero and Simon's not playing any part in second game was a nice break for us for a change. Glad it's over and some proper football is back.

🇺🇾 Bentancur: 90’ + 90’ = 180’
🇦🇷 Romero: 90’ = 90’

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Johnson: 65’ + 0’ = 65’

Most of Thomas Frank's squad will be back in training with him by Wednesday evening.

Not called up for internationals
Kinsky
Austin
Kolo Muani
Udogie
Takai

Returned after Sunday's games
Simons
Van de Ven
Porro

Others Returning
Romero - Suspended for Argentina so returned early
Dragusin - returning for injury

Returning after Monday's games
Tel
Odobert
Gray
Kudus
Vicario
Bergvall

Returning after Tuesday's games
Palhina
Danso
Spence
Davies
Johnson
Sarr

So 22 players back in training by end of Tuesday ( 90% of the squad) , possibly Solanke too

Good few days for Simons and Kolo Muani to get to know their new playing and coaching colleagues.

Injured assumed to be Kulusevski, Maddison and possibly Bissouma (not called up for Mali)

As Bentancur and Richarlison played (UK time) in early hours of Wednesday, with luck Frank will have a complete squad back in training on Thursday - often its Friday when south American players get back as matches often played late Wednesday UK time.

And no new injuries on international break that we know of !

After we play Wham on Saturday we start playing our midweek CL matches on Tuesday v Villareal, so we will need a full squad playing twice a week most weeks for the foreseeable future (with international breaks)

Curious debate this…

We’ve seen that Rice can’t play 6 on his own if you want to win a tournament and Bellingham isn’t really a 10 either. Palmer has fallen off a bit as well.

Anderson looking like a legit option for Tuchel’s #6 means we have a new Gerrard and Lampard situation with Rice and Bellingham

My unbiased opinion? Bin them both and stick Archie Gray in

Looks like the powers that be are looking at moving the September international break back next season, having it start on September 21st and also extend it by a week, removing the October break.

I'm actually okay with that. They should do it with the ones in the spring as well.

I guess I prefer this to the current setup, although I guess we’ll now get 4 matches into the season and have an “autumn break”, which is going to drag like absolute fuck.

I’d much rather as someone here suggested that all the internationals get played in a post season window.

Just bring the end of the league season forward and let the international squads have a decent amount of time together to play all their games in a mini international season every year.

Bergvall over Bentancur next match, Spence over Porto. Kudus monitored closely from 60mins…
