Not sure people have appreciated his link up with Djed on their first day playing together.
Not everything came off, but there are nice green shoots of a great, natural understanding between them.
Also, I loved Djed's performance, mainly for the intention.
Frank clearly told him to be aggressive down the wing (on the OUTSIDE
) in joining attacks, and was the most attacking I've ever seen him play for us.Kept forging up the whole time he was on, looking to link-on through Xavi.
Gonna be interesting watching how other relationships are now formed around Xavi, as our creative engine.
I think that's the point.... It's not a case of DROPPING anyone, it's more about incorporating various players in any one game.
STARTING Bergwall, Sarr or Simons doesn't mean that Bentancur or Paulinha are suddenly out in the cold....
It's a SQUAD game, and finally it looks like we have options OUTSIDE of the starting XI...
The 19 players in a matchday squad are the FIRST TEAM, and any combination of XI should be expected to play or feature at some point....

Okay Frank we get that you like runners in midfield and you are bedding him in but Xavi is not a LW.
But he should play LW, at least until Odobert is ok, we don't have anyone to play that position, Johnson is shite at his natural position, imagine playing inverte, yeah, well, you saw a bit of that again today.
If we want him to be a key player, we need to play him in his strongest position.
I would give one of Tel, Odobert or Muani a chance to make LW theirs. Johnson can get in the bin.
Xavi can do much more damage through the middle and we desperately need it.
We can't play a whole season without a 10 ffs.
