Udogie gives us a better balance but won’t cross the ball. I’ve seen him do it once where he crossed to the back post. 1 real old fashioned cross on 2 yearsI would like to see us put our strongest team out for this given we can rotate heavily for Doncaster.
Left side is a bit of a problem. The trouble with the Spence / Xavi combo is they both like to come inside and therefore we lack width and consequent wide threat on the left so teams can double man Kudus on the right.
I think Xavi can only work on the left with Udogie at LB who will prefer to stay wide and cross with his left foot. If Spence plays, then logic for me is to play Odobert on LW who is our only touch line winger for the left and Xavi in the 10.

Djed is a funny player for me. He’s incredible in a 1 v 1 defensively but going forward he won’t open his legs and knock it by someone and go full pelt. He offers very little offensively but I believe he definitely could . He wants to get into wrestling matches with opponents rather than pass it and move. He kills his own space but going into xavi’s space then passes it to him which congests the game.
I really like Spence but he probably frustrates me the most of all our players because he makes wrong decisions on the ball going forward. He has so much potential to be unplayable if he gets coached right.
The reason you haven’t seen Udogie cross the ball is because under Ange system he was inverted. Ange made LW stay wide to cross the ball, which negated Son’s strengths.Udogie gives us a better balance but won’t cross the ball. Nah, not this early into a new manager's reign. A string of losses is when concerns should register.
VicBased on Frank's comments I'd be surprised to see anything other than the above.
Porro - Romero - VDV - Spence
Palhinha
Bergvall - Sarr
Kudus - Richy - Xavi
He will wait until Doncaster to start Udogie and Muani.
Yes we should be beating the likes of Brighton, I agree. But we're playing away, and just a couple of weeks ago we lost to Bournemouth at home. Last season we lost to teams such as Wolves, Ipswich, and Leicester.Mate we are playing Brighton, doesn't matter how good they maybe or the fact we have a new manager, we are a far bigger club than them with far better resources...we totally dwarf their wage budget, no way should 24 be brushing off a loss like that.
Don't think Spence totally trusts his left peg to stick a decent cross in... I could be wrong but him at left bac is a Tottenham thing don't think he's played extensively there b4... Think if he was on the rhs .. he'd be more adventurous with his attacking and crossing.Udogie gives us a better balance but won’t cross the ball. Yeah but then we thought that last season for Tamworth and look at what happenedI would like to see us put our strongest team out for this given we can rotate heavily for Doncaster.

Let's hope we're both wrong !!!Yep.
However, I fear we may be in line for another kick in the pebbles, à la Bournemouth.
