Not sure he can go past a player, do you think he can?I think if Solanke or Munai are fit we could try Richie on the left

Yeah not a chance sadly !

I’d prefer to try him in Saudi…I think if Solanke or Munai are fit we could try Richie on the left
I was only joking.
He's played for us there on numerous occasions and been fine. I'd say he's better than the other two that play there.
I agree. Watching him at the Euros, I noticed the pace - but beyond that, there’s not a lot else. He can be dangerous on the counter, but since we’re not even playing that way, what’s the point? As I said in the summer transfer thread when news broke about our interest in him. After watching the highlight videos back then, I said, I don't see it.
Well, I still don't see it, and what I see is a light easy-to-push kid. To make it simple, he is like another Tel, or Odobert. Looks like Levy was in the "BTGO" store. Why do we keep buying these players? He was in the right level, right place in Germany.
I do recognize that his corners are special though. Very good to be honest.
But!!! I am patient, let's see how it goes in a few weeks.
[ALERT} PLEASE DON'T REPLY TO ARGUE HE IS USED ON THE WRONG POSITION. I AM GIVING AN OPINION OF INDIVIDUAL SKILLS REGARDLESS OF POSITION. I STILL DON'T SEE IT, NOT IN THE YOUTUBE VIDEOS, NOT IN SPURS GAMES.
I'm not sure mate. He's played for us there on numerous occasions and been fine. I'd say he's better than the other two that play there.
Sorry but this is really a silly take.I agree. Watching him at the Euros, I noticed the pace - but beyond that, there’s not a lot else. He can be dangerous on the counter, but since we’re not even playing that way, what’s the point?
And you’re right, there does seem to be an obsession in the recruitment team with that kind of player. Xavi, Odobert, Tel - all very similar in profile, and their end product is pretty much the same as well. None of them are proven in the Premier League either.
Feels like the strategy is just “keep trying until one of them clicks.” But together they’re close to £100m, which could’ve been used so much better. That’s a massive gamble for such little guaranteed output.
Wirtz has just rocked up at Liverpool from the same league in the same position and looks arguably the worse of the two. We realistically won't be seeing more than flashes from Xavi until after xmas, it's a big jump in intensity and game-to-game opposition quality, for any level of player, even £115m so-called "sure thing" signings. He's trying too hard to make an instant impact and needs to focus his efforts more, it's not unusual to see early doors with new signings. They said the same thing about Modric.
It's what we do these days, anyone joins us, needs to be peak Ronaldo, or they are shit, not good enough, or some other BS reason, why a player won't make it.
Then give them an endless stream of abuse online...
One of the reason why we are not allowed shiney things.
*The only commonality that you see.Sorry but this is really a silly take.
Simons is a well proven young player. Yes, not epl proven. And he's not 19, he's in his early 20s.
Tel was a teen starlett we decided to pay a king's ransom for. I'm still convinced it was a gentleman's agreement ala Kane's sale.
Odobert was a PL player who is young but had shown bright spots at a skill we lacked - dribbling.
Three very different players. The only commonality is that they're all under 23, which is such a silly comparator.
Lost possession 23(!) times and only won 5 out of 14 duels against Wolves
You sure you want this guy to play as a 10, he'd be eaten alive in that position in the Premier League.
Wasn't eaten alive against Brighton who are a better team. He just didn't have the fridge brothers pairing behind him against Brighton and the wingers either side of him actually wanted to play on that side. Play one of the fridges and Bergvall or Sarr with Xavi in the 10 and that midfield has some chance of being a midfield. JP and RB just vacate the entire area because they don't want the ball.

Not as physical as Wolves though and I don't see how losing duels is anything to do with other players, he's just weak and gets knocked off the ball too easily which is risky when you're playing in the middle of the pitch.
It means you receive better passes, and you aren't outnumbered in the middle because nobody else in CM actually wants the ball.
Duels is a silly stat because it means any 1v1 situation. Most of the duels he lost were facing up a defender and trying to make something happen. That's not getting knocked off the ball. You just picked a stat and shoved it in there to try and support your point. The eye test didn't match your take at all.
He did misplace passes most of the game tho. Definitely not his best game for us so far.
