In seriousness, this whole thing is very odd.
Pure speculation but I wonder if Slot just got a bit carried away and believed in his own hype? Walks into the hardest league in the world and instantly wins the thing when no-ones really expecting it while playing some great stuff along the way.
He came across as a bit arrogant and cocky to me towards the end of the season - seemed like he thought he was the chosen one and wanted nothing more than to marinade in the smell of his own farts.
Now he's got half a brand new squad, the lingering impact of Klopp's genius has faded, and he's seemingly been pretty tough on some players - regularly ripping them off at half time and slagging them off in the press.
Doubt it's just one thing, though. Probably a combination of an imbalanced squad, too many new signings at once, no Trent to build up play from deep, Salah/VVD a year older, Konate playing like a competition winner, Jota's death, and a cocky leader that's alienated some of the players and overrates his tactical brilliance?
