In seriousness, this whole thing is very odd.

Pure speculation but I wonder if Slot just got a bit carried away and believed in his own hype? Walks into the hardest league in the world and instantly wins the thing when no-ones really expecting it while playing some great stuff along the way.

He came across as a bit arrogant and cocky to me towards the end of the season - seemed like he thought he was the chosen one and wanted nothing more than to marinade in the smell of his own farts.

Now he's got half a brand new squad, the lingering impact of Klopp's genius has faded, and he's seemingly been pretty tough on some players - regularly ripping them off at half time and slagging them off in the press.

Doubt it's just one thing, though. Probably a combination of an imbalanced squad, too many new signings at once, no Trent to build up play from deep, Salah/VVD a year older, Konate playing like a competition winner, Jota's death, and a cocky leader that's alienated some of the players and overrates his tactical brilliance?

I haven't seen their game, but I looked at the stats. 24 shots to PSV's 9, more possession, 3x as many corners etc.

How do you lose a game 4-1 at home when everything suggests that you've dominated the game? Was it just a perfect storm for PSV?

It was a similar story against Forest, so both games suggest that their problems are mainly up front, which is hilarious when you consider that they spent over £200M on 2 strikers who were filling their boots for their previous clubs.

We're able to have a chuckle at them right now, but I have a feeling that they'll go on a surge when/if things click for them up front, and we'll most probably be the catalyst, we're only 4 weeks away from that game.

Concede 7 goals and their problems are at front.

I need to think that through..

I think the moment when FA and PGMOL thinks they are dusted for the title challenge, which seems quite soon, they won't be getting any more favourable decisions and will drop further points. They will be lucky to even get top 4 comes end of season IMO.

And we know which scum club will get the favours then to win it.

Hope we beat them on 20 December and seal his fate. Would be good to be the team that makes him lose his job.

It's more irons in the fire as to how long a manager's influence can last between appointments.

For example, Pearson had Leicester on a 7 wins from 9 streak at the end of the 14/15 season and had assembled much of the squad Ranieri inherited. They went on to win the title, somewhat out of character for Ranieri, lost a few players, he brought in some more of his own choice, then won only 5 out of 25 under him in his 2nd season.

This feels a little similar. I'm sure there plenty of other examples like this, going both ways

Am I the only one getting bored of the Jota thing being used as an excuse for their performance s this season? He was a colleague and after five years playing there, maybe a friend.

I’ve lost friends and family members that I had known for a fuck of a lot more than five years and I just got on with life. Took a few days to get a reasonable sense of reality and normality. They’ve had five months.

Am I the one in the wrong here? Sociopathic, cunty tendencies? Or are the `Liverpool squad a bunch of over emotional pussies?

Even Andy Robertson was at it after the recent Scotland match. We gave him a pass as it was a big night, but if he tried that in a pub in Rutherglen on a Friday night, he’d get stabbed.

I don't think the crux of their problems are to do with Jota at all.

They'll miss his ability as a player of course, but their issues are down to their star men starting to decline, particularly Salah.

And integrating too many new faces in one go.

VVD isn't as good either.

Slot doesn't look like he has the answers at the moment and I wouldn't be surprised if West Ham beat them.
