Yeah, this is the biggest issue he has. The team clearly services very little confidence from him and at a club like ours that ingredient is vital, and arguably the most important in getting us to tick. Certainly initially. But there's none of that here, coupled with the lack of respect shown by Spence and VDV (no mistake that's what it was, as I said at the time it would never happen with Conte) and the players doing their own Huddersfield before half time team talk yesterday, it's pretty damning.

As for Liverpool, can't underplay the Jota effect (impossible to quantify) and their two most valuable players seemingly, finally hitting a wall at the same time. But I your general point still stands

Agree with all that mate.

Frank can't get through this and he doesn't even have players he brought with him to be his advocate in the dressing room.

The club has a certain demand and it looks like it has beaten him.

Our last manager picked a fight with our fans as well.

It almost we have a bunch of cunts supporting this club or something...
We've been an embarrassing bunch of fans for a long old while now. Can remember it worsening towards the end of Poch and ever since we've been utterly useless at getting behind anything positive at the club.

Poch should have been backed more.. Conte should have had full support of the fans yet didn't. Then most recently Ange should have 100% got more support than what he ended with.

What manager or player is going to seriously want to play for us at this rate.

Ah yes, back to this silly game of pestering the dissidents with:

Who can replace him? Names!! Give me names right now!!

If you're convinced that a manager has already dropped below the replacement level in his overall contribution to the club, it's no longer a matter of having an instant and a significant upgrade of a replacement around the corner. You just change things to prevent further damage.

Whether or not Frank has already dropped below replacement level is a different discussion: For the record I don't think he has. But those who think otherwise are under no obligation to list a number of replacements to justify their discontent with Frank. They're perfectly justified to ask for a change, right here and now.

This nonsensical thing that's not even worth being called an argument was popular 12 months ago too, with the implication that the manager was doing a better job than anybody in his place could've been. Why do people not learn from the past?

It definately has a lot to do with these ticket prices and raised expectations, fans just aren't seeing what they're paying for on that pitch, the new stadium seems to be a curse in that respect - beautiful venue but when you're watching crap football it isn't justifying the price or the occasion.

We keep conceding the same types of goal.

Shots from the edge of the box because Franck only sees value from < 12 yards in both boxes

Turnovers trying to play out from the back

This. We don't shoot from distance so players seemed not coached to defend those types of shots too. A very stupid mindset from Frank IMHO to think shooting from distance are wasting opportunities.
You're both wrong. Our defenders actually block loads of shots of the type you're referring to, but of course it's only the ones that the opposition score from that you're remembering.

The problem starts further back in the play.
We're way too loose when the opposition have a head of steam - we allow them space, we don't tackle, regularly allowing them to get into strong attacking positions, in numbers, on the edge of our box. This leads to shots, many of which are blocked, but which inevitably lead to goals every now and then.
Has anyone else noticed that our opposition's midfield & defence rarely allow us the same luxuries?

And guess what - we lose.

If we replaced Ange with a Mason or a nobody 12 months ago then we wouldn't have won the Europa League therefore it was perfectly justifiable in keeping him at the club.

Seeing as you don't want to mention any names then I'm gonna assume you want a compelte nobody taking over this team, cool.

No one can sit there with a straight face and tell me they want the manager sacked and then not know the fek is coming in lol, it just doesn't make any sense and of all the things you can do a a footbal club is replacing a manager with a random is just ass backwards.

Our fanbase has been fickle for a long time. It has definitely got worse since the move to the new stadium.

Who would have thought that gentrifying the fan base would negatively impact on our atmosphere (rhetorical question).

It can't have come as a shock to the Levy/the owners that replacing lairy pissed up 18-30 year olds with middle aged tourists and day trippers impacts on fan engagement.

Sure, but I'm talking about Frank's reaction. Imo he should have stayed more diplomatic. Same with Ange's ear cupping. No point engaging like that.

True, it does need calling out though, you can't ignore these things.

Interestingly enough I heard that Porro was having a go at Bergvall for clapping the fans, imagine.

Our players must really hate our fans.

And doubling ticket prices

Those day trippers will soon drift away, no loyalty. Gonna be a rough summer for ST renewals as they can’t shift their tickets on the exchange to the Koreans this season. Huge churn

I’m genuinely at a loss as to where the real issue sits. We’ve had managers of all types: title-winners, solid operators who’ve done well with smaller clubs, and now Frank. At some point it becomes hard to pin everything on him when three different managers have now felt the need to call out the fans. Whether people like hearing it or not, they’ve all had their reasons.

We have one of the best fanbases in the country when it comes to turning up, paying top prices and travelling everywhere. No doubt about that. But we’ve become poor supporters. There’s a difference between being a fan and being a supporter, and the constant booing shows it. If booing fixed performances, we’d have won the league by now. Psychologically, it only makes things worse. Vicario knew he’d made a mistake yesterday, he didn’t need thousands of people announcing it to him. Do we honestly think the booing is going to make him calmer next time and not make a mistake?

There has to be a link between our home atmosphere and our home form being the second worst in the league. Players look tense at home because they’re waiting for the next wave of boos, so they play safe and tight. It feels like we’ve traded actual support for the Roman Emperor routine, clap what you like, hurl abuse at what you don’t.

People can boo if they want, but let’s not pretend it adds value. It doesn’t. It just makes individuals feel better about the money they’ve spent and the frustration they feel. I’d be fascinated to know whether our home form would improve without fans, like during Covid, because right now it feels like the players dread stepping out at our own ground.

The club need to talk about this properly. Something isn’t right, It is not THE issue but the atmosphere is absolutely part of it.

Of course but fans have to play their part as well.

Same fans who booed Davison Sanchez for a mistake as well, incredibly toxic fanbase
Can you not see the difference? Davinson Sanchez was booed consistently, over an extended period of time. That was very wrong, counter-productive and cruel. It will have disheartened him.
Vicario was booed for an absolutely ridiculous, avoidable, stupid howler (even I was shouting 'kick it out' - that's how obvious it was), causing us to concede a second goal, in the 6th minute. The booing was focused, loud and very short term - it lasted for about his next 3 or 4 touches. If he's got any gumption, it will have given him the kick up the arse he so badly needs.

The one really bad thing was Frank having a pop at the fans like that. I'm normally one of his biggest supporters, but that was a cuntish thing to say about loyal, emotional people who pay his obscene wages.

That group can’t control a football. It’s not patterns, they are poor

I don't agree with you or anyone saying the players are poor. It's a fallacy created from anger and disappointment.

What we have are players playing with low confidence, and what appears to be a manager they have either never respected or have quickly lost respect for.

That can create all manner of negatives, both in play and attitudes.

It was less lkeky to happen at Brentford where Frank was the Lord and players wanted to play for him. For whatever reason it looks like it's very different with us.

Nope, it works both ways.

If the players are doing the business more generally, then the odd mistake is tolerated.

On backing, fcuk sake. Pochettino - one window in particular. Shocking lack of investment but beyond that no chance.

Fans shouldn't boo but they are emotional beings who are simply venting. It's not personal as opposed to consequential.

Nothing complex here.
