Match Newcastle United VS Tottenham Hotspur. Tuesday the 2nd of December at 20:15

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

People are saying how awful we are.
They have the same points and worse GD. With a 1/3 of the season played.

They aren’t great. There are better teams in this league.

They do however have good home form and a crowd that will be up for it.
And THAT is what's called THE EYE TEST!

this SHOULD have drawn written all over it, but history tells us we'll get a thumping...

And God FORBID we go there with the stupid naive notion of actually WINNING!
.Why the fuck not?

Let's fucking go up there without fear...
We're 2nd in the away form league .. let THAT prove itself true tonight!

We really suffered at the beginning of the season because of the Isak/Wissa debacles. We had no fit senior striker for the first few games, and we were utterly toothless as a result.

We're still getting used to playing with an entirely different type of striker as the focal point. Isak was a predator, a poacher. Woltemade is closer to Sheringham than Shearer.

Honestly, from the outside, it seems like Spurs fans are way more critical of Spurs than anybody else is right now. Not knowing the ins and outs I'll not try and pretend I understand. But like you say, we're on the same points, with a worse GD, and there's no noise about discontent. Maybe more is expected of Spurs? Like I said, no idea.

Re: this game, I'd not be surprised to see some rotation given the games are coming thick and fast. We've got a trip to Bayern, then the derby next week so Howe might have one eye on keeping players fresh for them?

Hall and Livramento are both coming back from injury and might have their minutes managed, Bruno plays a lot and might swap with Tonali, and Howe seems fine with rotating the wide men so it could be Murphy and Gordon. Burn and Thiaw looked decent together but if he drops Hall then Burn will slot into left back and Schar will return.

Hope everyone who braves the cold and the midweek travel enjoys their night regardless of the result.

I'm all packed....should be a fun away trip

I think we will win tonight. Football is a funny old game. They won easily at Everton at the weekend. We are on a bad run and especially up there. But sometimes in football it doesn’t always go the way we expect.

Cue another midweek 7 nil defeat up there.

With respect .. there's still shit loads of leftover Saudi money you can throw at the problem .. So excuse us if the sympathy bucket is running somewhat dry for your 'plight' at the moment!

..and seeing as you mention the outside perception of a Clubs' fans. >> Honest question, what's your take on the Newcastle fan who punched that horse a few years back...?
Is he representative of your entire fanbase? Cos that's all I think of when I see Newcastle Fans these days...

...or is it just the Topless beer belly fans wearing Arab Sheikh headdress who you prefer to promote as ambassadors for an entire City?

Just asking for a friend!

They’re 10th best home form. Shite!!

We’ve got this!!!

The cunt should have been sent off for that barbaric challenge he made on kudus in the caraboa cup a few weeks ago.
A thug who constantly gets away with it!

Should have had numerous sending offs over the last few seasons but seems to be Teflon coated!

That elbow to the keeper’s throat as he was coming out to play the ball a case in point.

Utter wanker!

There’s a lot of pressure on Frank. I don’t get that vibe with Howe at all.

Yes losing Isak hurt you guys for sure.

St James Park seems to be a place we do well at or very very badly. No in between!

Next to nothing to believe we will pick-up anything tonight, and little to be comforted by in that event, as results are pretty much all that matters.

Avoiding embarrassment and mistakes might constitute something to hold on to but if that's the extent of it, against a good but far from brilliant side, it's pretty sh!t

Oh for the kind of surprise that other teams used to inflict on us but is now no longer a surprise.

It doesnt matter who starts. The players have downed tools and we'll most likely lose every game until Frank is sacked.
Firstly, what would that achieve, and secondly, WHO DO they want??? Pep? Klopp? Ask them who they deem worthy enough so they WON'T down tools for... get them in, and let's get on with actually winning games again... Remember THAT??

You never know what you will expect from Newcastle. One game they look like contenders next game they look like they should be relegated.
...whereas we just look like.....

I definitely think we have the quality to finish top 10, but with these tactics, the attitudes of our senior players and the culture of losing games that’s been cultivated where is our next win coming from?
Forest away....?
The last Premier League team seemed "too good to go down!"

Well, isn't this just a lovely bit of banter. Feel like you could have mentioned Greggs or unemployment, but I guess you stick with your favourites, don't you?

Love to the family.

Nah, Howe's got credit in the bank and I think the Isak & Wissa nonsense gives him a bit of a free pass.

With Frank, his appointment seems to have been an overreaction to Postecoglu's style? Like, "we're way too open, way too attacking. Let's appoint someone who's super pragmatic, super cautious"? Haven't you been fucked by injuries to key player as well? Am I right or way off?

They will come at us hard from the start imo. If we withstand that then we have a chance. Tbh I look at Newcastle team and it doesn't ring of household names or frighten me. Barnes is a decent player and have a big lump up top.
One of the best midfields in the league. They are a top 6 team if not better. Ramsdale will be in goal tonight. Before the last 3 seasons our record was won 6 drawn 2 of previous 8.
We have to give it a go. Hope Xavi starts because if he doesn’t we will be reduced to hoping for a goal from set pieces.

Probably a bit of that, more mainly I think trajectory.

We started off ok, whilst others started poorly. The likes of you, Villa, and Man Utd have now caught up to or overtaken us fairly easily and are coming into better form, whilst we are looking worse and worse.

The away form that was being lauded is now starting to look like simply a case of an easy run of fixtures, and the Woolwich debacle has wiped out most of the optimism that we had from that one bright spot.

We’ve lost all our attacking talent from last year and he’s benched Johnson (who was top scorer) as Ange really relied on a few patterns that would create space for Johnson to attack. Without that he’s become redundant.

Frank doesn’t seem to have the belief in Simons so most of our attacking play goes through Kudus. So he gets marked out of the game. That’s it. No real plan B.
Cross it!!

But it’s our home form that’s killing us. Place is toxic now. I think our players will just enjoy the away day. On paper and the table you are closer to us than Woolwich or Chelsea.
So be interesting to see what Tottenham turns up tonight.

4 bad results this month and Frank will be very close to being sacked.
We are definitely in relegation form over 6 games. When you are 18th/19th over 10 games your times probably going to be up.

As per normal I'm hoping for the best but fearing the worst ... Newcastle are hitting form and our results have been woeful. It feels far to easy and obvious to just say we're gonna lose... But..

The only chance we have is if we turn up and match their physicallity.

And I really can't see that happening but you never know.

The sad thing is our record against the better sides in the league is getting worse and worse.
