Break lines means breaking structural lines on a pitch, so you get space in between, for instance, their midfield and defense, so you can play through. Fairly basic footballing concept. Welcome to school.
Oh you do? Are you going to back that up, or anything else you say with proof or stats like you ask of everyone else, or pretend to be the smartest guy in the room, while everyone laughs at you again?
I'm saying him being bad on the ball is bad for us, because we have no control over a game when he plays against any side that'll look at him. Gets on the ball Wayyyyyy less than most midfield players too, which also means we can't hold the ball. When we don't have the ball, the other team do. When they have the ball more than us, they create chances. We lack a midfield completely when he's on which means we play hoof ball, and lose it.
Is that enough..... or?
Since we’re apparently throwing phrases around without understanding them, let’s slow this right down.
We all know what “breaking lines” means. The issue isn’t the term — it’s that you still haven’t explained how Sissoko actually does it. So let me help you help yourself. Are you talking about:
running with the ball and physically dragging players out of position, or
running without the ball and disrupting defensive shape?
Because those are two very different things, and pretending they’re interchangeable doesn’t magically make your point stronger.
More importantly, how does either of those things quantify Sissoko being “much better” than Palhinha — on the ball or off it? You can’t just sprinkle in fashionable buzzwords and hope nobody asks for substance. If you’re going to make a definitive claim, the bare minimum expectation is that you explain it.
And while we’re at it, let’s address the backtracking. You were adamant that Sissoko is “much better”, then suddenly the comparison becomes “like choosing between HIV and Hep B”. So which is it? A clear superiority, or a desperate attempt to walk it back once you realised how ridiculous the original statement sounded?
Your third paragraph really does sum this up nicely. I didn’t ask for a breakdown of Palhinha’s game. I asked you — very specifically — how Sissoko was “much better” on the ball. Since then, you’ve done everything except answer that question, including a fair bit of interpretive dance around the point.
So let’s try again, nice and simple this time.
You’ve had plenty of words already. Now see if you can finally use a few of them to actually back up what you have fucking said.
