Levy loves the club? Pfft.

He constantly shortchanged the club, supporters and its managers, if thats love then god knows what he’d have done if he hated Spurs.

Money men with no real football knowledge is the problem here.

What are we as a club? Serious top six side? A Borussia Dortmund? or an expensive version of West Ham?

They collectively have no idea and it shows badly.

Levy is a lifelong Spurs fan and has been attending games since the 60s.

You can question his abilities to run the club and football team, but I know that I prefer to have somebody that loves the club and its history vs Woolwich's CEO in charge.

Levy's legacy is that he built Spurs into a genuine 'big club'. Got to a Champions League final and produced some of the finest players in the world (Modric, Bale, Kane). He left the club in a better place than he found it. His downfall it seems was his refusal to be drawn into the financial doping undertaken by the $$$ clubs (ala City and Chelsea). He was the spokesperson for the Premier League clubs pushing for financial fair play and a level playing field for all teams.

It was always going to be a tough gig when Kane left - but a season finishing 5th, and then winning the Europa League and getting back into the Champions League should have been the catalyst to move on from Kane and embrace a new generation. It was arguably better than any fan could have expected with Kane gone, and no real replacement.

But alas, Levy and Ange forced out and a banker with no interest in football and Woolwich's CEO come along to appoint the ultimate pragmatist to cement Spurs back into mediocracy - and maximize Stadium revenue through concerts and alternative sports.

Our cunts can’t pick a manager or buy a decent player.

Loved the club so much he wanted to more to the Olympic stadium , wanted to give the non playing staff a 20% pay cut during Covid .

The Owners have not changed. Levy and Lewis family trust still own ENIC.

Levy was Chairman - he did not make all the decisions as people seem to think. Everything has to be approved by the board - including transfer funds, salary caps and coaching appointments.

There was a reshuffle of the board

Cullen and Levy Out

Peter Charrington - former CEO of CITIBANK
Vinai - former Woolwich CEO

My gut feeling is that a hostile takeover is happening - with both parties wanting to buy out the other. Levy with a consortium from Qatar; and the Lewis family trust wanting full control.

SPURS sacked a guy that loves the club (LEVY) and replaced him with an ARNSENAL CEO. - The supporters trust was so obsessed with protesting Levy; they have sold out to the devil.

You're spot on here tbf and the funny thing is people would rather an Arse CEO take charge of our club than Daniel Levy, where's the energy for Vinai and this new regime which is basically the same as before?

You see no one's protesting anymore even though this club in it's worst ever period it's ever been in in the Premier League era but idiots are still blaming BaLD cuNT because of emotion and agenda when the problem is still at the club and will still be the problem until they fuck off.

This fanbase is absolutely cooked and they deserve everything they get quite frankly

Of course there are fucking buyers if the price is sensible 🤣

Jesus :ange-facepalm2:

What is it with you guys
Seeing as we invest more than all but the top 4/5 clubs what buyers are capable of picking a Manager and players that are better than we have got. If money is all that mattered we should be around 6th. Apart from MC no other club has spent more than us in this window.

You want Poch to return but his profile was before us that he had managed a smaller club successfully in the PL. So last summer they copied that with another Manager that had managed successfully in the PL. You wanted Levy out and he has gone and the owners have had half a window to show things have changed. Whilst Levy clearly interfered with football decisions there is no evidence the current owners do.

The question should be why are we doing worse than many teams that have far less investment.

When setting a price you have to look at similar deals , not counting prize money earned from league position and CL etc Spurs have a higher earnings potential through extra events and higher capacity than Chelsea plus a far superior ready made stadium.
If I am the owner of a business like Spurs I would be looking for a price higher than whatever price Chelsea sold for.

Most of us on here will be life long Tottenham fans, many of us will have also attended for decades. I do not doubt Levy went to some games as a child, as I will accept his say so, but I do doubt his commitment matched any of us. So he cannot be given a special status on that basis.

I absolutely agree with you that putting a man who openly professes his love for Arse Anal is a terrible move. Nothing that Vini has so far done disproves this. He is another ENIC stooge, this time without even the pretence of a Spurs love. Whoever put him into our club is proven to be out of touch with what this 144 year old institution means.

Back to Levy, ENIC, they didn’t build Spurs into a “big club”. Our history did that. When they took over we were, I think, the 4th most successful British club. A club that then, as now, has the second highest attendance record in the entire football league. Yes, under Sugar we hadn’t competed, why is arguable, but from a decade of difficulty, is different to a decade being no one. Chelsea were built into a big club while ENIC fucked around, City too, that Tottenham was not more successful is why ENIC get rightly criticised.

Modric, Bale and Kane ( to an extent ) were players in their prime sold at a huge profit. The football decision is to hold them to their contract and or show the intent to keep them. Levy over saw the sale of them all. And replaced them with ?

Levy was not pushing financial fair play for the benefit of everyone, he was pushing it for his employers benefit. And many clubs didn’t agree with him and he had toxic relationships with them, especially City and Chelsea, so to an extent I admire his commitment to stability. But too long, and two often he lost the argument, and in the end upstart clubs such as Newcastle and Forest were just ignoring him, so he ended up isolated, which as a whole is a shame and a bad place to find himself. Given FFP is due to change again, I am sorry to say he wasted ten years on it.

Again I do agree with you that since Kane left it has been quite good - mad as that will sound - but there is only so long this league situation can continue until we are in serious serious trouble, something needs to stop the death roll, and I think 2 loans and a couple of optimistic buys probably explains what’s gone wrong, alongside buying far too many youth prospects.

Where we find ourselves now is indeed not helped by a board full of Commerical people. And unfortunately for me, the single biggest issue of our club is not any person, but is that fucking Stadium.

It allows for others to see the football as “just another revenue stream”. It allows for others to have borrowed obscene levels of money to pay for something we probably don’t need - in its current guise, and sadly. When we were very good and our squad value was high, they managed to borrow enough to build it. Now they don’t need the squad value to be high and you can see the results. It was but a con trick.

Shame, there used to be a football club over there…

So far our net spend is£ 0.6m with outgoings

We’re not 2nd at all

So so far lets take a look what the Lewis Kids i.e ENIC mk 2 have done so far

-Gave Bentancur a new contract

-Sold Johnson without replacing him, we are 18 days into January btw

-Bought Gallagher even though we have been screaming out for a ball playing progressive passer as a priority

-Still no LW

-Bought Paratici back into the club only for him to fuck off 3 months later

-Gave Johan Lange a promotion

-Still havent sacked the most incompetent manager there's ever been at this club

Way to go Lewis kids :frankthumbs:

Add this to the ever growing list of mishaps - fucking 6 months in 🤣

The Kroenke family also owns the Avs that recently won the Stanley Cup (NHL), the Nuggets that won the NBA championship, and the Mammoth that recently won the NLL. It's actually crazy
