Management Johan Lange - Technical Director

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There are teams that are in positions where they could look at this window and say, "You know what, there just isn't anyone there we feel can make us better in the near term. We'll wait." What Vinai and Lange don't realize is that is not the position they are in. A big part of their jobs in the here and now is to prove they are credible in their positions. They know enough to understand the cynicism fans feel, so do the board and the Lewis family. Yet, here we are.

Spurs are so shit they could have found players to help us. They just dont have the metal to force players to move with hard cash.

I know everyone is emotional but I’m here for it. Calm and forward thinking. Don’t act out of stress.

Easy to just dismiss Lange, and in fairness it was a good interview, insofar as it cleared up a few things.

I still maintain that many on here were looking for the 1 or 2 additional players who would make the threat of relegation a damn sight less likely.

Everything Lange says, with calm.assurance ignored or disregarded the possibility of relegation, and undeniably gave the impression of working with Frank in situ beyond this season.

Had we been sitting around mid-table, and everything else been equal, the concerns that have been expressed, and much of the ire could have been swept away with calls for patience.

it cleared up a few things.

Im not sure it did.

If you just buy the premise "Well there arent players available so what can you do?! 🤷‍♂️ " then I guess it does

I dont buy that premise.

If we have a list of targets ready now for the Summer as he suggests, we should certainly have had targets for the winter.

So unless they had only 3 or 4 possible targets to start with Id suggest they failed.

And if they did only have 3 or 4 targets, they still failed.

He's prepared to scour the Brazilian youth set up for a LB who is being bought as a potential/development opportunity - he sure as fuck could have found players who can impact the team now.

But I agree with you.

I am effectively saying, obviously not very clearly that our situation demanded the signing of 1 or 2 players, who I believe we could have secured if we had really pushed harder.

I think what Lange was intimating is that all those 48 clubs still in European club tournaments wanted to keep all their better players.

That's why I wrote many times during the window that you flex your financial power if circumstances warranted it. They did. We didn't.

The matter of the manager's retention, which I think was inferred is a worry.

Its obvious not much was done everywhere bar City this window and what he says is right to an extent.

But our need was greater than most. Could we not have bought in a forward or fullback on loan? In the whole of world football no one to at least hold the fort for 6 months? Why did we not recall some of our own loanees like other clubs did this January? If we didnt have break clauses it smacks of incompetence, if we did and just didnt bother then the same.

All very weak and half hearted, bit like us as a club these days.

Can anyone summarise so I don't have to listen to this useless prick
