How Bayern Munich let Tottenham Hotspur win the war for Luka Vušković

FC Bayern bricked on a major prospect and you will not believe why.

According to a report from Sport Bild’s Christian Falk and Heiko Niedderer (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich had prized center-back prospect Luka Vušković in its grasp, but let him slip away.
Why?
Well, a Bayern Munich scout felt the young Croatian was too arrogant on the ball.
We kid you not:

Luka Vušković was offered to FC Bayern in February 2023 as a 15-16 year old. He was available for €3m plus €2m add-ons from Hajduk Split. Bayern decided against the move after negative scouting reports - the chief scout back then described Vušković as ‘too arrogant on the ball’ and said ‘we didn’t really like him’. Ultimately, Tottenham saw potential in him and signed him the following summer for around €15m.
Well, as of now, this looks like a monumental — maybe catastrophic — miss. Maybe there is a fine line between being arrogant on the ball and being confident, but in this case that perception cost Bayern Munich a very affordable and incredibly talented prospect.

What do people think of our defence with him, but without Romero, and £70m additional funds and £200k p/w to spend on creative and attacking players?

I'd rather keep Romero and have Vuskovic in the squad next season tbh, though I don't think the above is a disaster at all IF the funds were genuinely additional to anything else we can spend.

Sadly we know that won't be the case.
I think you're on crack if you think anyone is handing over £70m for Romero.

:romeroshock:

Its Ramon Vega he only ever talks utter fuking shit..
He would no doubt end up whining about Ange being sacked.
Somehow always manages to get the conversation back to that.

Anyone offers 40 or 50 mil, ENIC will jump at the chance to make a tidy profit. Even more so if the deal includes a % of his next transfer.

Wouldn't be surprised if that cunt double agent offered him to his cunt masters down the road.

I think our club paid about £12m for him, so if he can be flipped already and with a sell on clause, the dullards can say to the Lewis family, there you go, a tidy £35/40m profit for you.

And the Lewis family reply, great guys, keep up the good work.

Where do you negative Nancie’s get this sht? When have we ever sold a player too early? We almost always do the opposite.
Yeah, and even when we sold players like Berbatov, Modric and Walker before their peak we always got a good few years out of them. Plus all of those sales were 9+ years ago and the most recent, Walker, was at the club for 8 years. We've not sold a promising player to make a quick buck in a very long time. In fact, the opposite it true and we've forced players to stay too long if anything (Rose, Dier, Eriksen, Alli etc).

Vuskovic is quite literally the most hyped young CB in world football and he's contracted to us until 2030. Why on earth would we flog him at the first opportunity for 40-50m in a market where fucking Elanga and Brennan Johnson cost 50m??!!

He's gonna be integrated into the squad in the next couple of years, then it will come down to whether he's willing to sign a new contract. If he does, great, if he doesn't we sell him in 2028 for whatever crazy fee we can get. And if he lives up to the hype in the PL it will be a hell of a lot more than 40m.

Max Kilman is what you get for 40m ffs...

If this kid keeps improving it could well be a world record fee for a CB. All the big clubs will want him.
