Why are people going mad about this?

I know the Club aren't great at getting things right but this seems a sensible appointment.

No PL experience but a very experienced manager and has a presence about him that just looks like will command respect from the get go.

A good interim option imo, and if he does well he's another option in the summer with Poch.
Because he never does well in perm positions he gets sacked within a year

I for one am now relaxed that the process has been well run and we've 100% made the right choice given who was involved.

Can anyone tell me 2 things

1) Why did Juve sack Motta
2) What difference to their form did Tudor make?

Just looking at their results immediately before and after and there's like, no change. They were in the top 4. They stayed in the top 4. Motta W6 L3 of 9. Tudor W5 D L1.
1 point extra. Less wins.
I don't get it.

Style of Play

Igor Tudor is known for an aggressive high energy style of play, typically employing a 3421 or 343 formation with intense pressing and direct vertical attacking.

His teams emphasise winning the ball high up the pitch, utilizing wing-backs for width and attacking overloads, and, if the high press is bypassed, transitioning into a compact, organised defensive structure.

This is equally important from the article! :porrogasp:

Tudor was sacked by Juventus after seven months in charge in October, with the side eighth in Serie A. His dismissal came after a winless eight-game run.

Ange won us our first and only trophy outside the league cup since 1990.

Frank took lowly Brentford up from the Championship to become comfortable PL regulars. He was widely regarded as a great coach before we got him. Never got any support in the Jan window and never once had his strongest available 11.

To make my position on Frank Crystal clear he probably had to go given how toxic it had become, but to then go and hire some geezer nobody has heard of?

Its just insane..
Tudor specialises is keeping teams up that are facing relegation. Done it 4-5 times apparently. Just what I read. A quick fixer.

Genuine question - are we the worst run club in the Premier league?
Yes, us and United, and it's not even particularly close. Don't know who's run worse between us and United though.
I’m not nearly as enamoured with getting Juventus fourth as you are. I’m aware that’s around their current level but then I’m not much impressed by their other recent coaches.

He’s never managed in England and his CV is extremely underwhelming. I don’t know why fans reaction to this would be any better than a shrug and a sigh.
Juve have been terrible at recruitment over the past several seasons. They've fallen behind the Milan clubs and Napoli.

What Tudor will bring to Tottenham
Analysis by James Horncastle

Igor Tudor has considerable experience as an interim. He came in at Lazio in March 2024 and qualified for the Europa League. He then replaced Thiago Motta at Juventus last spring and ensured they didn’t miss out on the Champions League.

Juventus kept him on as they underwent structural changes within the club. Damien Comolli, formerly of Tottenham, moved from general manager to chief executive at Juventus and then appointed a new executive team. Tudor was sacked in October. He remained on their books until a contract resolution freed him to pursue other opportunities in the New Year.

Tudor worked with Tottenham’s old co-sporting director Fabio Paratici while assistant to Andrea Pirlo at Juventus in the 2020-21 season. He knows Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from that time. He also worked with Randal Kolo Muani last season. Tudor will bring discipline to Tottenham.

It remains to be seen how this squad fits the 3-4-2-1 he has tended to play since deploying that system at Hellas Verona where he first stood out as a coach

To an extent people love to moan.

And to an extent I also think that some just don't keep up with leagues outside of the PL and CL.
