We’re going straight for the drop. This group of players is gutless, we have no homegrown players with connection to Tottenham, and that’s where the rot starts. Madders was truly the only one who actually “got” it, and he’s crocked. And forget the connection, we hardly even have good players ffs and the one we do have are crocked, cunts (Spence, VDV) or children.

Thats why we’ll go down. No one has a sense of pride connected to seeing Tottenham go down. No amount of quality can save us because our players are all duplicative profiles, and I’d add, Forest have a more technical and physically gifted side than us at the moment.

This is what happens when you don’t have any standards or anyone who actually has a backbone at this club.
That's true. None of our players is Spurs. They are just professionals that go to work.
We should start signing only players that can produce a picture with a Spurs jersey or scarf when they were young. When we will have a good number of those we can start signing 'strangers'.

Should have happened last season, but if Spurs managed to escape relegation, ENIC should immediately announce at 50% discount to ALL existing season ticket holders for next season.

Morbid thought-exercise: Relegated Spurs 26/27

Kinsky
Djed - Vusk - Danso - Udog
Galla ---- Berg
Xavi
Kudus ------------ Tel
Dom

Subs: Lankshear, Moore, Devine, Gray, de Souza, Byfield, Phillips, Austin
Sell: Romero, Van de Ven, Porro, Richarlison, Bentancur, Dragusin, Vicario
Medical retirement/out another season: Kulu, Maddison

It actually seems like a fun lil team, if not for how we got there...

Would probably fuck us immeasurably in the medium term but playing in the champ would, at the very least, be a mental adventure.

2 years of barely winning any bloody football matches has really worn me down. I'm getting to the point where I don't really give a fuck anymore and even relegation doesn't feel as apocalyptic as it probably should.

If we end up like Leeds or, to a lesser extent, Villa and get stuck down there for years, that would be very grim. But if we can keep a chunk of our best players and bounce straight back up, I reckon I'd enjoy it a lot more than I have the last 2 utterly miserable league seasons where I've gone into about 70-80% of matches expecting us to lose, even at home.

Vuskovic would be a monster in the champ and we could properly reconnect with our talented youth players by integrating Moore, Lankshear, Byfield, etc.

This is how low we've fallen - I'm trying to convince myself relegation wouldn't be that bad - but on a game-by-game enjoyment basis, I really don't think things can get worse from a fan perspective than they have been for about 18 months now.

Also buy the best five players in the champ to build the squad out….. wage bill would still be a low % of revenue even at reduced levels (c.350M?)

Might pop a tenner on Scott Parker to be next perm manager at 40-1. Feels like such an obvious choice if we do end up getting relegated. Promotion specialist, former captain, would surely prefer the gig over yet another champ season at Burnley.

I'd think if we get relegated there's no chance of keeping Vuskovic.

I fear that might be the case as well- he could stump for a move saying- I'm too good for this shit already!

Losing Romero, VdV and Vusk all in one summer would be absolutely devastating for us. I do think there is a chance we could appeal to have him help us for one season though, as long as he had an agreement to move on in the summer...

He's definitely too good for that unfortunately. He's probably a top 3 CB, probably a case to be made that he's the best, in the Bundesliga now.

If we go down, pretty much a certainty we lose all 3. Christ. What a mess we're in.

Big clubs that go down don't just sell their entire squads and often keep plenty of players that are 'too good' for the Championship. If anything we'd be more likely to keep Vuskovic as he's on fuck all wages and that's exactly what you want in the Champ. Can certainly see us flogging Romero and/or Vdv but I think it's highly unlikely we'd sell both of them AND the one bright hope we have for the future at CB.

But anyway we've already gone back and forth on Vuskovic in his thread and you seem to think we're gonna sell him regardless, so no point going over that again.

It's said that you're only as good as your last game(s) and with our awful form and being completely outclassed by Woolwich, it hurts. So I completely understand why so many of us are expected the worst, particularly when the media keep stoking up the possibility for clicks.

But even with all that, I'm not that worried yet about relegation, our fixture list looks a lot better than West Ham or Forest, we have an interim manager with a good record taking over clubs in a mess and our recent form has been against some of the hardest teams in the league.

Yes we are in a mess and we have the worst available squad in my memory. But we need to just get through this supporting the team as much as we can while trying to not let negativity drag us down. That's my main concern, that a negative atmosphere could make things toxic for our run in and be the final nail in our coffin. But I won't worry about that for at least 4 games.

The fact that we are even in this position is damning on the club, but I won't focus on that until we are safe.
Time to close ranks and get behind the team and manager and get through the remainder of the season. We should be alright. We won't be playing those fellows from yesterday each week and the lot we're competing with have their own problems.

They'll not be able to stop them leaving. People need to get a grip on reality.

And that's not what I said. That disingenuous and you know it. I said if Bayern offer big money, and he says he wants to go, it's more likely than not he leaves. If we do get relegated and they want him though, then yeah, we're toast.

This will be my last post on the matter as we're just gonna repeat the exact same points we made in the other thread, but player power is highly dependent on wages, contract length and player influence within the squad.

Romero and Xavi, both on massive wages, would be high on the list of sales, if we get relegated. They can easily throw a massive strop and disrupt everything, while the club will need to get some high wage earners on 180k-200k off the books if we're going down. VdV won't be far behind and would have tons of suitors, so not hard to see him being flogged either. Can certainly see those 3 leaving.

If we're selling those guys, why would we also let the super-talented 18 year old on 10k p/w with 4 years left on his contract leave? He has no player power due to his wages and age and he's probably our best ticket to actually getting straight back up again given he's incredible in the air and will suit the Championship down to the ground. If the club has any sense at all he'd be the absolute last player they'd be selling. Players with far more leverage have been forced to stay at clubs against their will...and Vuskovic has zero leverage.

Of course, as I said in the other thread, all that goes out of the window if Bayern come in with an 80m quid offer or whatever, but I'll believe that when I see it.

Well I think it's going to be very close but I believe it will be Wham that goes down. I think Tudor will get the best out of this group but it's going to be a nail biter.

Closest we’ve ever come in my lifetime for sure! The teams below us all seem to have some fight and I haven’t anything from us yet and nothing to suggest we have that dog in us.

On paper we should be ok as we play a lot of the teams around us which theoretically should dent their chances if we beat them. But this can also go against us. Fail to pick up points in the next 3-4 games and we could be screwed

You’re comparing a manager with zero premier league experience against a premier league title winning manager who had two of the best forwards in the entire history of the football club at his disposal.
And let’s be honest. Conte was the manager Kane wanted while he was making eyes at City realised he wouldn’t get his move and then pretty much went on strike when Nuno took over.

But to make it fair let’s look at the hard facts.
Nuno had won 5 out of 10. Got sacked. 9th best team in the league at the time.
Conte then won 6 out his first 10. Made us the 4th best team in the league over his first 10 games. So yeah he made a difference.

Tudor takes over a team who has won 5 out of the last 24 league games. With a ridiculous injury list and a team at the very bottom of the form table over 12 games. Bottom. Below teams like wolves and Burnley.
As Frank was allowed to run this football team into the ground for some reason.

What difference can he make?? There’s no Kane to inspire. No Son scoring 23 premier league goals. He’s got a bastard job to do.

Do you think he could get us 4th in the form league over the next 10 games. Are you slightly mental???

There really are no comparisons at all for this situation.

Might as well ask you if Ange made a difference when he took over from Nuno at Forest.

Did he??

He doesn’t need to get us 4th in the form table over the next 12.

He just needs to make enough difference to keep us up.

You’ve answered my question though, thank you. You do think a manager change can make a difference.
