I get that but my point is it wi quickly bounce back - a one 200M revenue drop doesn’t equal a 50% / £2BN revenue drop
I read a comment that the parachute payments a relegated club would receive in year one would be around £50 million. It's 55% of the broadcasting revenue that would have been earned in the PL.

That would defray some of the revenue lost, and salary reductions would also take effect, but I think everyone here knows they would sell every player who would bring a fee and try to achieve promotion with a new set of average players

I'm very tempted by the 4/1 odds for us to be relegated. It was 5/1 before Fulham.

I know I'm a traitorous bastard but it would slightly soften the blow. Also if I'm going to be watching utter shite like our "performances" of late then I can have a little chuckle to myself at our incompetence.

It fucking won't be worth backing if we lose to Palace.

We will lose 100m in tv revenue incl the parachute payments.
We can offset that by selling Micky and Romero, which was prob happening anyway. We have made 70m from champ, lge so far.
That will offset losses in stadium income on match days which could go down by 50%
Only good thing is that we can charge away fans what we want as the £30 cap doesn’t apply. Needless to say other players will go and we will limited on what we can spend to replace players. At least we have Vuskovic and Mikey Moore returning .
The answer to all this is to go and beat Palace and a few others .
Frigging nightmare

It's been obvious since the Chelsea/Scum games that we had regressed as a team under Frank (and Vinai) but even with injuries last season these players were able to get 3 wins on the bounce this time last year. Surely we can do the same to get out of this mess?
I don’t think we can. These players look like they’ve not bought into Tudor at all.

Nah

I don't agree. Im not normally one for chopping and changing and yes it's down to the players and I'm not sure any manager will get much improvement but any small gains could be the difference. We don't have to lie in any bed we have made. We stayed with Frank too long in the first place. We can't do that again.
This guy has actually been worse than Frank so far. His team selections are appalling and his hasn't had any new manager bounce.
I personally hate five at the back ,which is his preferred system and playing young Archie at LB and Gallagher at RM two games running and not starting Richy and playing Simon's LM where we know he has been even more ineffective than in the 10 role. And starting Dragusin over Danso. Terrible selections and no balance.
Needs must and these are desperate times.
He has to get a result against Palace and the performance has to be better .
3-5 games I would give him as harsh as that seems. He was brought here for an instant improvement and a short term fix. It's not working so far.
True but who the hell are we going to get.

I'm not one to doom-monger ; but for many of our players ; getting relegated will represent a " get of jail free card " . i.e the clause in their contacts gets them a life-line to another elite club ( and almost certainly a pay-rise ) .

Clubs like Notts Forest , Leeds and even Spam have fewer players in that position. Many of their squad members are enjoying the high point of their careers . They'll be giving everything to stay in the Premier League .

Obviously, I hope I'm wrong about this .

Is that true? Do the players have a right to exit at relegation ?

We only really had mickey and Romero out at that time.

Front 6 we had Tel, Son, Johnson, Maddison, Kulusevski, Bergvall, Bentancur ,Odobert, Bissouma all available,
In defence Porro, Udogie, Spence, Danso, gray, Davies for those games.

That is the issue, we really had much stronger team throughout first 6 months of last season, whereas we have been 5 or 6 starters down for long periods of this season, and in effect minimum 3 of our starting attacking players out every game this season.

The team that beat Brentford had Gray/Davies/Kinksi, Spence in the back 5 and Moore starting but yes that was when players started filtering back. Praying Romero, Udogie, Kudus filtering back in the next few weeks will be enough. 🙏

That's not how it works. For you to be so dismissive of it, for absolutely no reason is just mental. If we keep going as we are, we're gone.
It's an internet forum. I have one belief, and you have another. One of us will be right come May and one of us will be wrong.

That is exactly how it works.

:avbcringe:

I'm dismissive of it because of the reasons I've stated. These players are shite. But they're not that shite. They'll not be 3 points worse than Forest AND 5 points worse than West Ham across the final 10 matches, and will in all likelihood manage to be at least 2 points better than Leeds across those 10 matches.

1 of those clubs may well finish ahead of us. Possibly even 2. All 3 will not.

I'll not discuss it anymore. Anyone who fancies having a friendly wager to benefit Hope in Haringey is welcome to have it. (I did lose my Brennan Johnson wagers last year, afterall)

He’s significantly better than whatever we have available right now, warts and all.
I agree. I get that people find Kudus annoying but he at least gave us a consistent out-ball and a foothold higher up the pitch. Not to mention lots of teams have to double up on him cos he's one of the best 1v1 dribblers in the league. He wouldn't suddenly fix us as his decision-making isn't great and tends to overplay but I think he helps the overall team in other ways and is, also, one of very few players in the squad capable of scoring a worldie out of nothing.

As you say, he's not perfect but he's way better than the other options we've got right now and him being fit would massively help in the run in imo.

Why did we spend £40m on Gallagher. AM must be laughing their bollocks off. Any wonder we are in a relegation dogfight if that is the calibre of player we recruit.
We needed a winger on either side to replace outgoing Johnson, injured Kudus or departed Son, so we got Gallagher as no one has tried playing him on the wing yet and he could be the second coming of Lionel Messi just waiting to break out once we unlock his true position.
