Being recognised, by a serious trophy winning manager, while being played out of position, or not at all, is clearly a far bigger achievement than being ignored by Ange and Tommy Frank.

He's not been good recently but on his day Spence is a decent player. Think he's largely got in the side for a combination of his versatility - he's the only full-back in the entire squad that's comfortable on both sides - and the fact he did well when he came into the England camp previously.
There are a few players Tuchel's clearly picked more based on how they did back in the autumn qualifiers: players like Burn, Spence, Madueke, etc. Whether that's right or wrong remains to be seen, that's what he seems to have gone for.
And if you think he was picked because he's England's first Muslim player...I've honestly got no words. Not even worth having that conversation.
