Loans between EPL clubs are going to become a thing of the past, with the financial clout that even the smallest clubs have.
Why would they invest in improving someone else's player when they can just buy their own?
Remember a few years ago when Fulham turned a loan offer down because they didn't want to waste time improving our player?
That's the norm these days imo.
To be fair, I think that's down to opinion but whatever conclusion, it's upgraded the depth of the squad at least. Is Senesi an upgrade on VDV? Is Robertson an upgrade on Udogie? I see them as competition.
I had a dream about crab meat.
The nice thing is Maddison has got a bit of confidence back in his knee with the cameos. Now he can have a full preseason and friendlies. I expect him to be back to 75-80% by the start of the season compared to the last few games where he looked like 55%ish.A Bentancur Scott and Gallagher midfield would have no creativity. None of them score or create enough goals. Even with Maddison back there's still too much of a burden on him to create pretty much everything from midfield.
We might need to get a loan option while Maddison is getting his fitness back.
And Gordon, or anorexic Claire Balding as I like to think of him.I always think he looks like a lesbian
Obviously not the sexy kind
I like Gray and Bergvall and we should still have a pathway for them.
HOWEVER the balance of the midfield is diabolical.
After last season we just can’t risk waiting on their development.
The plan should be
Sell Sarr
Let Biss go
Let Palhinha go
Loan Bergvall
Bring in a ball playing 6
Bring in Scott
26/27 midfielders
New pass first 6
Bentancur
Gray
Scott
Gallagher (will be moonlighting as a 10 Maddison is back to fitness)
*Porro in emergencies
Spend next year gradually putting Gray ahead of Bentancur
27/28
*recall Bergvall
Sell Bentancur
Sell Gallagher
September 28 midfield:
The aforementioned ball playing 6
Gray
Scott
Bergvall
Do you genuinely think he would be a waste of money? I mean we haven't got a single chance in hell, but even if we blew our entire transfer budget on him it wouldn't be a waste of money. He's 85 levels above anything we have and instantly goes into the top 3 wide players in the prem.
You might be in for quite the awakening if you think Raphinha might be a waste of money when we do actually waste our money
The club wished Gazza happy birthday a few days ago.
Greenwood is definitely getting treated differently to other people in football.

Seems like a decnt player, though Im far from convinced we need him
Cheaper than I expected
Let's hope so. We still need a creative ball player in there as cover. They can take Bissouma's spot in the squad I suppose. The nice thing is Maddison has got a bit of confidence back in his knee with the cameos. Now he can have a full preseason and friendlies. I expect him to be back to 75-80% by the start of the season compared to the last few games where he looked like 55%ish.
Bentancur’s performances under RDZ are what made him worth persevering with for the next year in my mind. You’d do a better job than Lange
The only change I’d make is being willing to cash in on Bentancur this summer if we can replace him with a Baleba type player. Then you can sign Wharton as the ball playing 6 because Baleba gives you the running for balance
Start next season with:
Wharton
Baleba
Scott
Gray
Then
Gallagher moonlighting as a 10
Maddison
Eventually Simons
Aaaand, this will be unpopular but we need to see what Maddison is really going to be capable of physically. Maybe go back for MGW if he’s not going to playing regular 90mins
Romero and Dragusin will surely go.
