Again, we hear the same crap, every year. Some prepared, internal interview, doesn't make me think that there's any real accountability. It was deflection and blaming.

I'm not arguing agaisnt your point. My point is this interview is much the same as those that have preceded them, and I don't find him to be more accountable than Levy. It's probably the work of the same PR person.
I like the way they are basically saying the shit season was only levy. I mean surely having great training centre doesn’t result in one of the worst seasons ever. They are basically trying to absolve any decisions they have made like Frank , Tudor , Jan transfer window etc. it’s all levy’s fault. He was a twat but many in here said if was still in charge Frank would have gone much earlier. And we wouldn’t have ended up with Tudor.

The thing is we can't win either way. Last summer we were linked to semenyo with Bournemouth wanting 70m and a large majority thought that was laughable, overpriced and a waste of money.
The chances are that even if we had paid it and got him he wouldn't of performed to his level in this nuthouse of a club and we'd have been saying it was a terrible buy and a waste.

The problems run deep. I have hope that RDZ can bang a few heads together and lead the way so long as hes given enough power and control.
That would be down to frank

We wouldn’t have ended up with De Zerbi either though. God knows who Levy would have hired. He hired Ange and whatever people say, he definitely had a huge hand in hiring Frank even if it wasn’t solely his decision.

Levy’s managerial choices were fucking disastrous and the few he did get right he never backed.

If we are looking at the new ownership as a reset and take away the Tudor interim which was an emergency stop gap, De Zerbi is an excellent hire. Likely the best one we’ve made since Poch.

I agree, that would have been the straight forward answer. I do think the reason he skirted around it completely, was because as he alluded to, we will never be a club where executive non football people are making technical decisions on football matters, which is exactly what was happening under Levy.

So I think he steered away from commenting on it, but intrinsically that is a question for Lange. Why did Lange decide we didn't need any players? I think Vinai couldn't answer it, because to do so truthfully would be to throw Lange under the bus.

I think it might be viewed at the club, that Lange fucked up the January window, big time and it almost cost us relegation.
Lange already answered it the day after Jan window closed in another pre determined interview. It’s on record why. That vid is or should be his termination letter.

Think levy would have got Harry and the band back together which I wouldn’t have been bothered about. Much rather proper spurs boys to Tudor.

The irony is De Zerbi actually ended the season with a weaker, more injured, squad than Frank had at the start, yet managed to have us playing far better football and look like a proper team.

Not saying Frank was dealt a great hand, but the fact De Zerbi was able to pull the group together and have them playing at an upper-mid table/Europa standard even with all the injuries proves that Frank is due a big chunk of the blame and it wasn't purely a squad issue.

I'm sure at the start of the season VV would've said "I have great faith in this group of players, in which we've invested significant outlay. We fully believe this group is a capable of competing at the highest level under Thomas' leadership" or some such bollocks.
He prbly did

And that was with a front 3 of Richy, Tel and Muani. Give him Kudus, Solanke and Kulusevski and he’d have done better than 60 points.
Plus he came in when the pressure was on big time know any fuck iOS and we are down. Rdz didn’t get everything right but he did enough get us safe. Now he needs to kick implement his style with HIS players.

Season 9 Idk GIF by The Office

I don't think he was the messiah we expected; he really pipe-bombed his own progress after the first season and oversaw most of our current squad problems

I think in terms of fit, Conte wasn't a good hire for us as he isn't a project manager, he's a win now one. Same with Jose.

So that's why I don't think they were good hires. Levy hired top managers but failed to back them.

De Zerbi is more like Poch in this regard.
De Zerbi, like Conte, has repeatedly blown in and out of clubs like a hurricane, never lasting long.

De Zerbi plays much more attractive, attacking football unlike Conte, but he's also never really won anything unlike Conte.

It's the same old thing with this club and this board, it's the honeymoon phase with the new manager so people act like it's not an absolute 100% guarantee that two years from today he'll be gone.

We should improve considerably in the meantime though, as Brighton did. Let's get to work.
