Club Come here to laugh at Dippers

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Suddenly LFC fans on other forums and social media are trying to take the high road. "I like Slot but it just didn't work, I hope he does well though."

Fuck off, these clowns were screaming for his head two weeks ago and laughing at Salah for calling him out. Now they get what they want and they try acting class.
Not sure what the problem is here.

They had a horrible season and the football was trash and they totally lost faith in him.

Totally lost belief in him, especially after the klopp glow faded from the team and they were left with a ropey brand of Slotball.

Spent tons of money and he hasn't been able to get the team functioning effectively.

It had to have been pretty damned ugly game-by-game for fans to get to that point.

If they want him out, that’s fine. My problem is they were attacking him like a villain a week ago and now they want to act like they have always liked him, he’s a legend for winning a trophy, etc.

The sudden change in attitude after getting what they wanted just screams entitlement.

Most fans are fickle.

It is a bit mad on Slot. Had Liverpool finished 5th in his first season, and let's say finished 3rd this season, even with the outlay, it's hard to believe he would have been sacked.

I'm not saying it isn't the right move, but I do think he can consider himself slightly unlucky.
Add in the Jota situation, key signings being hurt and Salah being a crybaby then I think Slot has every reason to feel unlucky.

Most of what I've seen are people being openly happy and relieved on socials.

Sounds more mixed on forums from what you're saying, but not many being shy about being happy he's gone on youtube etc, from what I'm seeing.

They're, generally, entitled dickheads, but that doesn't come into it here - they just had too many alarm bells this season and don't trust him to go forward taking them evern further away from what Klopp left (which they think played its part in him winning the title, by the way he's totally mismanaged things once he brought his players in and enforced his way).

Watched a few of their games and it's been pretty rancid, overall.

Can't stand dipper fans, generally, but got nothing against having super high standards.

Yep, I think Slot is a touch unlucky for sure. He had a lot to contend with, and not just Salah's antics but declining levels from Van Dijk etc.

I understand the sacking however, because you must believe a person can/will take you in the right direction. I think that belief had clearly gone, and possibly they saw Iraola's availability as an opportunity not to miss. Same with filth and Alonso.

I hope it obviously all goes wrong, and Liverpool still face the same issues as not having star players in my opinion, and presumably less to spend.

As for fans, as long as we all recognise our hypocrisy, it's all good by me, but talk of Slot's style of play from some, as though they have this extreme sense of football knowledge makes ne laugh. Win, and mostly a manager is a great tactician etc. Lose, and suddenly it's the opposite. Bullsh!t.

Yeah this season was always likely to be a transitional one. Integrating all the new players, the tragic death of Jota, the decline of key players such as Salah, Van Dyk, and ahem... Robertson.

Then there's the fact they probably over-achieved by winning the Prem so a certain amount of regression to tbe mean was to be expected.

Add in the League being even more competitive than ever, and the help they usually get from referee's and VAR going to Woolwich instead, and I think Slot has done OK to get them Champion's League football this season.

I think German and Dutch people (historically speaking, very similar) both believe in the efficiency of telling you what they think instead of wrapping it up in a social cuddle.
"Why would you wear something that highlights how fat you look?" etc
German are functional.

Dutch actually go out of their way to be rude (imvho).

It's just unecessary and they don't get checked on it enough.

Get a pass as them being 'direct'.

It's arseholery.

Good post.

More competitive PL, but not a better one in terms of overall quality. I think it has levelled downwards, which is defined by the lack of star players, who always make the difference.

It's why that lot won the PL this season, but also why Liverpool fell into the pack.

I think when you spend 450 million pounds, you have far less excuse not to make a bigger impact, even if the circumstances for Slot/Liverpool last season were more than a bit unique.
