Transfers Summer 2026 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Thought he was played as an 8, didnt do much, got moved back to 10 and got back to his best?

Not entirely sure how transfermarkt defines its positions, but according to this he was AM the vast majority of games:

LM x 2 and LW x2

And these guys say:

edit, that pasted in fine but did not post fine :vinai:

AM - 37 apps
LM - 4
ST - 3
CM - 2
AM(right) -2
AM(left)1
Midfield(right)-1

(last 50 games)
Yeah it looks like he played left towards the end of the season but he was scoring goals from there. We need another player on the left anyway and more goals which he brings.

100% we need someone for the left, though personally Id prefer someone who actually specialises there

Round peg = round hole kind of thing

If we got MGW Id want him in the 10, thats it (which as I said above, rasies questions around Maddison....)

If it were a choice between the two, I'd opt for Marmoush. Works his socks off, which isn't something you can accuse Rashford of doing on the regular.

Eight goals and seven assists in thirty two matches.

Had the asking fee and committed salary until 2028 been less I think Barca would have taken him.

Not suggesting we should, but he came off the bench in a lot of those thirty two appearances.

A goals and assist every three games is pretty good.

He has one of the highest g/a per 90 numbers in La liga.

I’d certainly fucking take him. Villa did and they loved him and wanted him again, and we are miles away from Villa atm.

What pitch time is he going to see if he's 5th choice?, unless we get a load of injuries which I mean is entirely possible I guess :D
Probably not a lot apart from some late minutes and maybe the odd early cup appearance but that's pretty much what you need from a 5th CB.
But that would give him time to train with and try to impress RDZ.
Maybe get some minutes with the U21's at times to keep sharp?

We can't go into a season with just 4 CB's and I personally think Phillips is good enough to be trusted should he be called upon, so i'd much rather that then spend more money on yet another young CB.

There comes a time when we've got to start giving our youngsters a chance.

We don’t need five centre backs. Without CL, chances are he won’t play a minute other than one or two cup games.

Spence more likely
To start a PL at CB ahead of him
After the past two season, I'm not sure we can rely on just 4 CB's with our medical team.
Phillips is young and HG, I think, which would help the squad places, no?

I'd rather give him the chance, then spend money on a foreign 21 year old CB.

I honestly think the smart thing to do is to wait for the Champions League clubs to do their business and then see what's left.

We can't compete with United, City, Woolwich and Liverpool so let's see what they do first.
Is that what United did last year? Without any European football then went out and bought Mbeumo and Cunha because they were serious and paid a shit load of money to the players, their agents and their respective clubs. No reason we can't do the same. Move early and let the rest of the league play catch up.

Depends how you define left, or what you want from that role

drifting in for shots/passes or dribbling the touchline and crosses?

In thinking of the LW for us now, Im thinking more "prime Mitoma" as a profile than "a #10 starting wide and drifting inside"
I don’t think he’s vastly different from Mitouma there… he’s a tricky player that can go either side and beat a man

Yeah but the odd min here or there isn't going to anything for young players, it's either he goes into the first team with a plan for him to get regular mins or he goes out on loan again to play consistently.

Next season there's going to be reduced mins so he's only going to realistically get a couple of cup matches at best and even then that's probably not realistic

I mean 4CB's in a 40-45 game season is totally fine.
