The sort of posts just show we have the shittist fans around when it comes to complaining about young players. This is always followed up by bemoaning why we didn’t sign the likes of Whaton earlier too

Which rings true with what Alderweireld said today in the media. We don't just need good players. We need players that are hungry, that want to improve and constantly get better. Those are the players that go from good to great.

You can critique Tel's play. But he is one of our most driven players and is 100% going to improve and get better. Same for the other youth.

Difference is that there was consistently ‘something’ about Son, Palmer, Bergvall etc when they were younger (just to name from the lists above). Tel hasn’t had that - I suspect that’s why Bayern let him go. They bought him as a hot prospect but there wasn’t enough there.

Reference to Moura above, too - nope - he actually made an impact when he came on. Tel’s decision making is awful. Not nearly as good as he thinks he is in his own head but doesn’t seem to be getting better. He can stay or go - don’t mind, but he’s not the answer.
Tel also actually had that "something" about him when he joined Bayern M. at 17, and during his time at Bayern M he broke records as Bayern's youngest-ever goalscorer across all major competitions.
60 games (mostly as a sub) and 12 goals before he reached 20. And Spurs apparently had several bids for him rejected...until Bayern M. realized that he may not be "something" after all...

You don't half talk some utter fucking shite. Cole Palmer had made his England debut at 21 and moved for £40m (Likely £42.5 m) to Chelsea because he wanted to play more in a team that was the best in the world arguably...then had this season before he turned 22 (in May 2024).

Clown.
Restrospection is such a wonderful thing. Why didn't write about Cole Palmer 3-4 years ago to tell us that you could guarantee that he would become a top-notc EPL player?
Palmer made his England debut after Chelski bought him - and that stats you posted were also after he joined Chelski.
Even a clown would understand the points I made very clear but not you....

This is why we should stick by him - he has an absolute top mentality. He does not hide.

Is he flawed as hell? Yes

Did the dysfunction of the club affect his development?

He was willing to take on so much responsibility in a critical period and that raised so many green flags to me.

And maybe the biggest of all.

He gave away the penalty against Leeds but look how he bounced back.

I'll be quite surprised if De Zerbi gets rid but a regular starter? Unlikely. That might be the issue.

Seems other clubs still rate him. I know he is maddening and very inconsistent, but I think it would be poor squad planning to sell him, he’s basically our only fit wing forward.

You simply replace with better. Savinho is a better footballer than Tel. RDZ would of seen enough now and maybe he's realised exactly why Bayern got rid.

This would actually be a really positive decision, for years we have hoarded poor players until their value completely drops, this would be a change in that and would show we are actually being proactive for once. Times might actually be changing!

We sold Kane for 100m, the real value should have been in getting rid of the players he was propping up in his time here, the likes of Winks and Dier could have been sold for very good money, as Kane had people fooled into thinking they were good players. The best bit of business we have done in the last 10 years is selling Skipp for 25m! Sell when poor stock is high!

Skipp must be the only player we have ever sold at peak value.

Trouble is we already need at least 3 forward players. Selling tel just adds a huge amount more to do.
Im happy to have him as a squad player but if he is desperate to start week in week out then a sale would be best.

Isn't that why he left Bayern , a huge club , for more game time ?
Doubt he would be happy with a few minutes here and there especially as he's a year or two further forward in his supposed development.

Yeah, unlike some in here, I'm not giving up on any of our 20 years olds yet because firstly, they are so young and secondly, because they've been thrust into the first team ahead of schedule playing for Thomas fucking Frank.

They all deserve another year at the very least or else you can stop moaning about missing out on the likes of Scott and Wharton because you obviously haven't got the patience to give them a chance to develop.

Tel, Odobert, Gray and Bergvall all have talent and have all shown glimpses of it but they're kids still.
Stop expecting miracles of them.
