The long range switch when it's on, is great.
Daws problem was he employed it when the oppositions defence was set, the fullback wasn't overlapping and when he was bereft of ideas.
I'm really looking forward to seeing this guy play with Jan.
Great deal for spurs! He was always the lesser (and younger) defender with Verthongen at Ajax but he managed to improve a lot after verthongen left. Together they were very, very solid. Jan was the 'creative'/ attacking one and toby was focussing strictly on the striker. Got a decent header, scores regularly and got a great long ball. After verthongen left he took over his tasks and deserved his transfer (expected it to be smaller club than athletico though)
It wasnt strange he didnt get much time at atletico in their CL finale season. Their defence was crazy solid as it was and they didnt sufer many injuries
Think tottenham will be his top though; dont see him perform on absolute top level.
But then again, i was surprised ron vlaar even got time in the PL and he seems to be a well respected player, drawing a lot of attention from the the top tier
