No idea what to expect and no idea what team he'll pick.

I like that we've kept the same back four for 3 games but something clearly isn't working on that left hand side. Walker has been solid, Alderweireld too bar that stupid penalty. The other two is clearly a worry.

Dier and Mason I expect to see start again.

Chadli and Eriksen if fit, could Alli play from the start? Looked confident and direct yesterday, knows where the goal is. Dembele was pretty solid and actually did shift the ball and get the odd shot away yesterday. Think we're at the stage where its anyone but Lamela.

Kane is slowly getting there, involved in most of our good play against Stoke and Leicester now just needs that first goal to kick on. Team for me would be (if fit):

Lloris
Walker Toby Jan Rose
Mason Dier
Dembele Eriksen Chadli
Kane

Clint, Alli, Pritchard as attacking options on the bench would be nice to see, better than what we've had so far.

I fully agree, although I rate Dembele a bit more than what you seem to do. The quality of his defensive play is leagues above what we can expect from the rest of our AMs, and I also think he'll prove a valuable asset offensively given some game time to work on his stuff.

Most people seem to be content with Davies for some reason. He gets to much credit for being a good defender.

We've had all sorts of problems defensively on the left side this far, that we didn't see with Rose last year. And Rose is a hell of a lot more active and a lot better offensively.

Why the Rose hasn't been playing the first three game has really been puzzling. Not only is he a better player, a more offensive back is also hugely important to our game. The full backs/wing backs provides our width, and we desparately need offensive quality from them, especially now that we have a very defensive Dier in the midfield and Dembele as an AM.

I rate Poch highly. I love the fact that he trains hard and likes to play youth. But imo he fails to find the right balance with his lineups. We need Rose!

Let's hope for a win, and that the impatient cunts in the stands will have something to cheer about so that they don't ruin our season with their fucking booing.

I think Rose was injured against United and Poch was forced to pick Davies. He's not been too bad in all fairness so I guess that is why he has stuck with him. Rose offers much more though so hopefully he'll revert back for this game.

I like Dembele but his output offensively isn't enough. If he can improve on his assists and goalscoring then he is close to a nailed on starter for me.

RE Rose, one thing that has dramatically improved since Poch and his team came in is our injury problems. I'm hoping that they are just being extremely careful with him and not risking him being out for longer by rushing him back so soon.

I would love Alli to start this game. He's buzzing at the moment, our crowd will love him which will improve the atmosphere. It feels a bit similar to when Mason made his debut against the scum last year, no one expected him to start but he scored a screamer midweek and Poch throwed him in the deep end. Start him in at home and let's see how he does. However, if Eriksen is fit obviously he needs to start so I'm not sure who I'd replace Alli for. Just don't start Lamela, he's done nothing to justify a start and the crowd will moan from the first second he touches the ball.

Imagine if Mousa would put up points at the same rate as Lamela (9pts last year). Would be our 2nd best player behind Kane arguably! I love what he brings to our game but he MUST be more direct in his game (as must all of our attacking players bar Kane..).

Not that we will, but I wouldn't mind seeing this (Assuming no new players arrive and Eriksen is not 100%):

Bench: Vorm, Walker, Vertonghen, Bentaleb, Eriksen, Pritchard, Dembele.

He won't bring on Clinton. He has this fetish with letting players take months to settle in before he gives them a game. He's still not given Yedlin a game, despite the fact we didn't have a fit RB...

Hasn't started Ali, despite it being obvious he's our best option currently. Hasn't given Wimmer or Tripper a game. Pritchard hasn't even made the bench. Only player he's bought and gone straight into the team over the past 2 years has been Toby.

Considering he's renowned for playing a system that requires an ultra high level of fitness for the entire 90mins, that also needs that high tempo from every player on the pitch, otherwise it falls apart, It would seem logical that he wants his new signings to reach that same level of high fitness before he's happy to let them play competitively. Which would probably take a good few weeks, unless they've come from a club that trains in a similar way (e.g. Southampton).

Just a theory, feel free to tear it apart!

Fair enough, I get what you're saying but:

A) It doesn't stop new signings from starting and being subbed when they tire
B) Our 1st team doesn't look entirely fit yet as it is
C) They could still feature on the bench and be brought on with 30 mins to go etc.

Lennon was hardly tearing it up. In fact I considered him part of the problem. Trouble is that Lamela is even worse.

New wingers please

He's doing ok and I would still put him in our side at the moment!

Of course if his behaviour really was causing a problem then that's another matter!

Probably we'll never know the truth!

Yep. I think Kane and Dembele just need pace around them. They have it all apart from pace, so we need other to stretch teams while Kane and Dembele steam through them.

We need Rose, Trippier and Walker giving us more width so defenders have more to worry about that doubling up on Kane and Dembele.

It will be entertaining, but you risk Clinton doing a Lamela. You can argue that the prem pace broke Lamela, Soldado, Townsend and Holtby. The wing is a bit of a poison chalice. Bentley, Lennon, GDS etc etc.

For him to work on the right wing statistically at this club is a HUGE risk.

I think we need to play Clinton behind Kane. Since we don't have backup for a striker apart from Clint, we should keep him central. We played people like Holtby in so many positions it kinda fucked his game up.

I know everyone wants pace and width, but we are also sick of our wings being attacked constantly by managers on the counter. This lineup will give managers the usual way to sit back and kill us on the counter.

I think Dembele is undropable. Those draws could easily have been horror shows without the Moose. Both Dembele and Kane need pace around them. Putting Clint next to them will give us way more options IMO and bring out the best in both.

Poch has a really hard task in front of him. The players at our disposal make for some whacky formations.

The tough one for me is Chadli. He leaves us open on the wings, but he has an end product. So since we are low on forwards, perhaps Chadli should be on the bench. Backup for Kane. We need a pacy DM so bad. More than a striker IMO. Fuck it. He's got an assist, a goal and the formings of a good linkup with Kane.

------------------Kane-----------------
--Chadli-----Clinton--Dembele--
-----Mason------------Dier-----------
Rose------Jan----Toby---Walker

Whoever is not performing at half time, bring on Alli. Hopefully Rose and Clint will give us that tipping point we need re pace. I'm convinced that is all that's stopping us from a serious run. I want to see more of Trippier too. Plus I have faith in Bentaleb so IMO it's almost impossible for Poch to put out a bad midfield, but somehow, he finds a way to fuck it up! a spine of Kane, Lamela, Dier and Jan is like molases. Add Dembele and Chadli and it compounds the pace issue.
