Ex-Spurs Player Dele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He's only 19 but he is all physicality. One injury could ruin that for him in the same way Rooney was never the same.
He's not a passer. He doesn't have vision. Mason is a better central midfielder if you want a creator.
But he has height, has a great shot. But he is a very English player. He's Milner with pace and fearlessness of youth. But he not a technical player.

I disagree on virtually every point.

edit: apart from height and having a shot on him.

Some real crap on this thread!

Alli is 19 and one of the hottest prospects in the PL or Europe for that matter and we're fortunate to have him!

In 1-2 yrs he will be ace playing alongside Lamela and Eriksen!

Can't wait!

This argument is open for every young player. In Allis case, he shows signs of maturity beyond his years, he's got a physical presence and is able to play football (the football brain). Longevity is key here, the longer he plays the better he will get. He must adapt his game accordingly as time passes, keep fit and learn from mistakes. There are not many young players that show his ability at 19. Rooney blasted onto the scene at a young age and became a very good player (best player at Euro 2004). Lets hope Alli blossoms with Tottenham and is not tempted to move on?

... and like Mason and Rose he can be a nasty little shit.

I quite like that.

He is Alli, he's own man=playing he's way, full of energy. lots of skill and is keen. Not sure about the Milner comparison . For me some player spoil and others are create, Alli is creative, Milner is not? He could be anybody he wants to be, he's young , talented and in a decent team. Lets not expect too much too soon, he's only young.

We are getting so much from him now, its frightening what he could achieve.

You realise this is the Alli thread?

John Crace can write some strange articles at times, but on ESPNFC he's claiming that Alli should be made captain after our 'poor run of form.' He also effectively claims to know more than Pochettino and our fitness and sports science staff about how much work our players should be doing in training during the week.

Anyone who thinks a 19 year old should be made captain in a squad of grown men who have been playing at a high level for years and years should just quit writing. They've obviously never been close to a dressing room and don't understand the dynamics behind them so it's clear he has no idea what he's writing about. Seriously, whoever he writes for should realize he's a moron and let him go. We have the captain of the French national team yet the lad who played in League 1 last season should be captain? Who the fuck would make a 19 year old captain of a club 4 months into his career there?

More often than not I wouldn't even pay attention to some click-bait article but what a farce that is if true. How the fuck do you even come to that conclusion?

You sure are taking the nutmeg really hard! Let it go! Happens to the best of us!

Alli is a great prospect and although I disagree with the tone of Modric THFC Modric THFC he does have a few interesting points.
For all Alli's attributes his decision making in the final third isn't great and I've said before that he needs to pass and make better timed run's into the box, rather than going it alone. He certainly has technique but his not quick and nor is he a great dribbler, of the 42 take on's his attempted, on 11 or 26% have been successful. In comparison, Dembele has attempted 45 for 40 successful or 89%.
I also liked how Poch dropped Alli deeper today, I think against Newcastle we had a tendency to go long to Alli which nullifies Eriksen and Lamela.
Still at 19, his probably the best under 21 player in the league and I think if he works on his strengths his going to be a top class player in the years to come.

I was laughing too hard at Mason being a creator and couldn't finish the rest.

Completely disagree that Alli should be captain... However, Arda Turan was made captain at Gala by 21. Isn't out the realms of possibility that he could get the armband in a couple years
