Goodness sake we would never have beaten Dortmund over two legs, end of story with whatever team we put out, they will win it at a canter as are in top 6 sides in Europe easily. Nobody else we have played have even been close to how good they were, was a schooling and Poch did the right thing not to bust a gut and still lose

As for league, 38 games no winter break, every team with money, we have succeeded where the big teams have failed to cope, we are where we are as we have the better goal scoring, the better defence, we are prepared for every game despite playing more than most and have had many other teams say we are best team we have played.

Plus we are probably still undercooked, only 8 months ago we had many cunts who didn't deserve to be here, still tweaking the end product, we will be right up there next season too

No idea where we will finish yet, I have being say wait while people were stupidly planning the last 12 games of season and what would happen, all I can do is like what I have seen so far and the fact we will continue to get better from the ground zero of last summer

Simple. What do you think? I'll let this stay for a day and look up the results tomorrow!

Update: almost 100 votes and the results are promising and optimistic so far!

a few twists and turns yet a while but if it was not like this football fans would not bother to keep turning up would they. what if leicester Draw sunday and we draw with Man utd

I know it's a cliche, but we can only take each game as it comes. It would be nice to get one over Chelsea at their place, for a change, though. All the other games we should be looking at winning, as long as we don't go in over-confident.

Objective is to hold onto 2nd place. Leicester could win the league with 3-4 games to go, which would make the end of season feel more like an accomplishment for our players IMO.

I despair sometimes. Before the international break, a lot of you were saying we would definitely win the league. A draw away to Liverpool and a home win for Leicester later and we’re now not going to win the league.

As much as I’m desperate for us to be crowned champs, I never felt it was going to happen after the draw to Woolwich. Leicester have a decent points buffer and an easier run-in. My main concern was and still is the Woolwich creeping up on us. The table does not lie and we will finish where we deserve to be but it’s been a helluva a season. Spurs will be stronger next campaign too. Everyone else should be worried.

When the dust settles, let's say we do finish 3rd, I think it will be reasonable to see it as a huge opportunity missed, probably even a failure given where we've been for some time. Relative to August expectations and looking at lots of stats it will be a great season regardless but, the cards we've been dealt gave us a real chance of so much more. Those are just ifs and buts for now though.

Drawing twice with Everton, Liverpool and the scum when dominating most of those games could be telling. Could've lost 3 and won 3 and been better off by 3pts and still ahead of scum by the same margin! There were long debates earlier in the season about how drawing was not losing so it was better but, right now the maths says otherwise if we'd split some with wins.

It's all irrelevant for a couple more weeks, 2 wins for us and 2 draws for Leicester and it's game on. Improbable but not impossible - let's keep the faith a bit longer.

Finishing above the scum is crucial to the mentality of us fans and the club going forward, the title is a dream that we could never have imagined previously.

First of all let's win on Sunday, end of.

Nothing you have written I can disagree with however there is one over-riding thing that should be considered about our early season form and it is important to apply a lot of context to it, we were/are a very young team. We were/are a team made up of players playing their first season in PL or with limited games before this season e.g. this is Kane's first full PL season! Our team had just undergone massive corrective surgery and the players left were still attempting to learn and implement Poch's system. The performances we put in at the beginning of the season were superb given the context (we were the better team in all of the draws), what has been truly incredible is the team pushed on by finding the extra needed to turn draws into wins and then do it consistently, rather than doing what a young side would do by performing inconstantly.

As you correctly say it's irrelevant for the next few weeks, but just felt compelled to chip in.

finishing below the filth after the season we've had would be a disaster. I still don't think the league is over but 2nd is minimum.
It would be horrible, but certainly not a disaster. We are well hardened and conditioned to finishing bellow them, we will do what we always do, get on with it but we can look on with a great deal of positivity for what we are building. Were they to Finnish bellow us however, it would be a fucking epic meltdown. We would unleash 20yrs of pent-up frustration and be intolerable to them every minute of every day.
Patience my friend patience.

Chip away mate. I can appreciate all the good of this season and I'm very proud regardless but, I'm not afraid to admit that I'm going to feel gutted about 'what might have been' more than usual if we fail to finish above you know who at least.

And I'll add that I never wanted Poch before his appointment and could not see us in the top 5 this year at all. Whilst there have been unforeseeable failures by the 'big' clubs this season, we've still excelled compared to what I thought possible and I admit to being totally wrong. I still don't think our player recruitment was up to scratch and January was a big miss but that is a different issue. We can kick on again next year if we keep the group together and add the right couple of players.

one thing is for sure the young players will learn a lot from this season and the run in it will be one big platform for the team to spring board into next seasons champions league

I'd just like to add, the numbers thrown around for our results against the top 12 does include most (?) of our first few games of the season where we got some disappointing results as the squad was still gelling (think Alli finding his feet in the Premier League, etc).
Well we have won once this year against a top 12 team.
Its the only thing we can really improve on as we have been great at everything else.

I guess its more our attack that lets us down against the better teams. Not really clinical enough.
My solution is probably too simple. Buy another clinical striker. & a bit more variation to our attack.

We are probably the best against the bottom half teams.
Which is a skill in itself.
They can be very negative & frustrating to play against.
So that is a good achievement.
We seem to wear them down.

Maybe its all just a freak series of results.
Swap 2 or 3 wins against the bottom half teams for draws against the top half teams & then theres no real pattern to highlight anymore.

We could easily beat a few more of the top teams next season whilst dropping a few more pts to the lower half teams.
Or the same pattern happens & then its clear we need to improve against the better teams.

Cant decide if its just a freak pattern with no substance.
Or that we have a problem playing against the better sides.
We will know more next season.

Its a small negative amongst the sea of positives this year
