Again, I must be naïve, but anytime I've played sports it's been to win. I always gave my best.

And that's purely amateur. Professionals don't just get to where they are on ability alone, they've got to want it.

I just don't see how professional sportsmen will throw games for the supporters of their current or former clubs. Can't see it.
Bruce Grobbelar
Hans Segers.
Half of the Italian league in the 80's/90's.
There are plenty out there.

These Chelsea comments only illustrate how imperative it is that we are level on points (and thus ahead on goal difference) before that final game, leaving it in our hands and Chelsea's "performance" irrelevant. Only so much we can do about that.

So come on you Swans!

lets play and beat WBA first and get those 3 BIG points. The Woolwich will be only 2 points behind at the end of play today unless Sunderland do something amazing. LC will win today and be 8 points ahead. We need to take each game as they come and stop looking to far ahead.

We must get on with beating WBA and stop this 'we are victims' before anything as actually happened. I'll be there with everyone complaining bitterly against the Chaves but not until then.

His first and last game for WBA.....pretty sure he was able to retire after :pochserious:

You mean like Peru threw the game against Argentina in the 1978 World Cup losing 6-0!
:avbshit:

I remember they had to win 4-0 in order to qualify for the next stage rather than Brazil.

Turned out they had been bribed to the tune of £10 million

Disgrace that both Peru and Argentina escaped any FIFA action

Siofok, who Fulop played for before he came to Spurs, were involved in match fixing. Infact its was claimed that match fixing in Hungary was widespread.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's happening now.
Kaplan springs to mind s the most obvious of late.
However, when a club like Woolwich, who just built Highbury and were languishing in the 2nd division, get an amazing bit of luck, getting promotion from 5th on spurious grounds, avoiding financial disaster.
You must remember match fixing by Liverpool and Man U led to Woolwich bribing their way into the top flight. That very year they decide to increase the league & suddenly change the rule of no relegation.
Liverpool's chairman was on the FA, and good friends with Norris of Woolwich. Norris knew and had something over him nd he was in a position to oblige.
Then fast forward to their next big move, they build Emirates massively in debt needing CL to pay it off, and the Spurs team gets food poisoning. Then Fulop makes there massive blunders to gift Woolwich a win, to give the CL again, then it's just a massive coincidence?
