I don’t expect us to win it, however considering the relatively strength of our team we have had a remarkable tournament.

If we go out in the semis or lose the final we have been a success because no one expected this. If we win then it’s going to be one long piss up.

That and we're a victim of having all our squad play for domestic teams with bitter rivalries (think about the French squad for example - there isn't quite the same thing).

My take: yes, a lot of people are coming out of the woodwork. We should foster that feel good factor though, as you can bet it'll have a great impact on the Euros in two years and so on.

1990 and 96 were great. 98 as well in a lot of ways.

I think it’s telling that this is the first tournament in years where there were pretty much no expectations of the team. The players seem to play far more relaxed, and with more freedom to express themselves, compared to the statuesque shit we were served up by the ‘golden generation’.

It’s a likeable team too. No Hart or Wheelchair. I can see this World Cup inspiring a lot of English kids, and with both England and Belgium in the last 4 I can envision the birth of a new generation of Spurs fans too.

That's exactly how I see it..Getting this far is beyond anyone's dreams.. anything else from here on in is nothing but a bonus.

Been such an enjoyable ride.

I was thinking earlier how much more likable Pickford is than hart (helps he's actually decent). Then thought that about the whole squad.

The thought of terry winning always made me nauseous

No Real were only good after the groups remember....

Didnt Sweden come through a group of France and Holland, beating France, then beat Italy in the play off (after sticking 8 past Luxembourg) then came through a group with Germany and Mexico and knocked out Switzerland.....

But supposedly we havent proved anything because we didnt play a shite Germany
