The difference is everyone put themselves about apart from Ade. This was his opportunity to break into the team again and he was lacklustre. I agree that not everyone was up to scratch BUT at least they still wanted the ball, Ade was trying to spin off the shoulder of the defence all game and it was never going to work because they were playing so deep.

Anyone with an ounce of football knowledge knows that if they are defending so deep you have to drop off and come to collect the ball.

Soldado made a big difference when he came on, his energy, movement and willingness was so much higher than Ade's

He did he really did: It was really frustrating to watch because we have Soldado who wants to do well for the club taking over and showing Ade up!

no you don't. you hope that your midfield will finally pass to you. If you're dropping back as you suggest who is their to pass to in the space you've left? (where you should be)

If you drop into the space it allows the attacking midfielders like Eriksen, Townsend and Kane to overlap and run into the space. If you come deep and they drop off further then it gives YOU space with the ball to run at them. Constantly trying to spin off the shoulder of a deep defence doesn't work

I thought the opposite to be honest. Adebayor did his normal trick of trying to pick the ball up far too far up the pitch. Our best chances, bizarrely, came from the long balls over the top because their defenders where slow as shit and couldn’t compete on the turn.

They were very poor in the box defensively IMO, if we had put a single half decent set piece into the box all night then we probably would have had it sewn up. What the fuck is up with Eriksens corners.

His time has come and gone here. We are building a young, vibrant squad committed to the cause.

Ade fits none of it. Cheers for those couple of years you were decent. Fuck you for those couple of years you couldn't be arsed.

For the good of the club, he needs to go.

It does. Gerd Mueller made a very good living off it

but I'll play along.
What space? The one already occupied by yours and there 10 players?

On more than one occasion soldado was on the edge of the box equidistant between 2 defenders and should have been calling for the ball. He chose not too

But you are right, a player whose played all over the world at the highest level should be seeking advice off a message board

But I thought all the players hated Ade? That's what we keep being told here. Ultimately, SchmoodSpur2013 SchmoodSpur2013 has it nailed. Adebayor is in no way a part of the long term picture because we are building a young squad. Same thing goes for Soldado. The sooner we are shot of both, the sooner we can go forward. But we also only have three strikers for the rest of this season and I don't see the point in not trying to get something out a player we've seen perform at a high level in Adebayor. There's no point to have him just on the bench for the rest of the year. We're going to need for him to rotate into games at various points or Kane will be dead of exhaustion by mid-April.

A return to the form shown in the second half of last season would certainly help quell the booing, and match-winner Townsend has backed Adebayor to soon start finding the net once more.

"Everyone knows what Manny can offer," the England international said.

"He scored loads of goals last season. He has had a few off-the-field problems this season, but he has got his head right and he has got himself fit.

"He has had a few niggles but he is now 100 per cent fit, so hopefully we will see the Emmanuel Adebayor of last season and he can start scoring goals for us.

"In his first game back on Saturday, he was fantastic and worked really hard for the cause. It was the same against Sheffield United.

"He worked hard, he had some nice touches and, even though there wasn't much space for the forwards, he did well.

"Hopefully he'll get another game on Saturday against Leicester in the FA Cup and he can get a goal. He is a fantastic player. He worked hard and hopefully the fans can see that."

Jesus, you're dead right. Who the fuck wants people that argue and creates threads on a forum. Couldn't be having any of that around here.

:paulinhofacepalm:
I think you were late to the party mate. Chap created a new Ade thread based on some quote. Since been merged with this one.

If you have a defence for the latest influx of undereducated 9 year olds that have joined TFC lately I'd like to hear it. Duplicate threads of no substance have been popping up everywhere lately, and arguments (which should be discussion) has been of an all time low standard, with no knowledge or facts to backup opinions to be seen.

If this forum was like that, most regulars wouldn't be here and it'd be like all the others that everyone slags off

Tottenham news conference
Tottenham v Leicester (Saturday, 15:00 GMT)

Posted at15:05

Manager Mauricio Pochettino was coy when asked about any transfer movement this month, saying only "you never know in football".

But he was more forthcoming on the subject of Spurs fans booing Emmanuel Adebayor. "All players need to feel the support from the stands from our supporters," he said.
