Who would want to come and manage a team near the bottom of the PL?

I'm saying you should never put Ange in the same sentence with Poch and AVB, its ridiculous.

Ange is a fraud, and completely out of his depth. Our worst managerial appointment, I dunno, maybe ever. Ossie was bad, but he had a connection to the club.

And again....What I said was perfectly fine in context.

They were not being compared.

No, anyone wouldn't do for a few months. Not because Ange is doing a great job, far from it, but because very few managers would be willing to take the job without harboring any long-term expectations. We unfortunately don't have our own Heynckes, nor can we promote an assistant the way we did with Jol back in the day.

This drastically limits the room for manoeuvre. If you, like me, think that another Mason stint is pointless at best, then this leaves a permanent mid-season appointment as the only alternative.

A rushed, far from ideal mid-season appointment carries the risk of jeopardizing the next season, in addition to not making a difference in the context of this season. The latter is indeed unlikely, because we sank so low that the only way seems to be up from now on. Hence the shouts of "Anybody could do a better job than this!". But the former still stands I'm afraid, unless you're willing to sack the next guy in the summer as well. If he turns out to be another poor appointment that is.

Assuming that Ange will get the second leg, we might have missed the boat already. I have little faith in Ange as a manager, but at the same time I'm fine with him finishing the season barring an actual relegation battle. Sounds contradictory, but it isn't.
Totally agree mate

Ok I want Fiona Bruce , we ain’t ever winning anything ever again so fancying our manager is my preferred route now .
If Levy won’t pay the Antiques Roadshow release clause I’ll take Kate Winslet or Suzanah Reid as fall back options .
What about Gabby Logan (if we are going down the eye candy route)?

Nah, just get the best manager… and Levy… spend some money! You bald tightwad. (This is an obligatory Levy dig)

Just cause you agree, doesn't mean it's right.
People agree with flat earthers.
People agree with antivaxxers.
People agree with religious cults (all religion)

Doesn't make any of it right.

We would be better without Ange than with. Even if it's Mason. Even if it's Dim Sherwood. Even if we just let Son player-manage the team. Even he might drop himself.

TBF, Iraola (who seems to be the TFC most preferred candidate) is the least paid manager in the PL. We could triple is salary and still be paying him 60% of what we're paying Ange.

The only thing that would complicate the Iraola pursuit is that Valverde's contract at Bilbao is up after this year. He's been annually renewing his deal, and there's reports an offer for next season is imminent. They're currently 4th in La Liga and 2nd in the EL, so it'd be harsh for them to choose to push him out. But if he were to leave, I expect Iraola would leap at the chance to go home to his club.

I hope this is the reason Ange still has the job - we don't want to sack him until we have his replacement in hand and Iraola won't commit until Valverde extends his contract.

This is just the dumbest fucking shit his fanbase keeps coming up with

There's litterally hundreds of coaches around the UK and Europe who would do a better job than losing every fucking game you pillock,

It does not work like that .
1, sack him now and you limit your choice for a new manager
2, he has won big cup games
3 Amorin and Moyes have not improved their teams .
4, Ryan Mason.

One of us is dumb and it "literally" isn't me.

Although ugly... That's actually a far more plausible idea that most of the bollocks being chatted about caretakers. At least he has experience of a club of this size and players of this nature.

He went in at the chavs as a caretaker and took them to a Europa league win. I’m not saying I want him but I do want a coach to come in until the end of the season that is experienced in European and PL football and his name suddenly popped into my head.

Amorin has only just started. He's got better results than ETH in beating City and drawing with Liverpool.
Heck, he very nearly saw his side come back from 3-0 down to us.
Moyes has had 1 game.
I don't care that Ange has won "big" cup games. The biggest game he's won the FA Cup is Burnley. Lost to City and drew 0-0 with Tamworth in the other 2. In the league cup, beat a weak City, beat a changed United, just, and had a wierd 1 off performance Vs Liverpool.
None of that makes him a good manager. The man is a joke. Spurs are a joke. And people still backing him are jokers.

This is it...... All this chat about "anyone would be better" and "Act now.... Ange doesn't deserve the chance to piss away our cup runs"......

As if Dyche or Johnny-Random wouldn't completely tank those cup games.

So long as we had a fixed idea on (and even commitment from) whoever our target for next season was; I think you nailed it.

Alt: Mancini isn't working atm either.... In fact (although not top of my list) I'd be curious about where he could take us full-time.

Total BS post I’m afraid. We have the 6th highest wage bill in the PL. plus one of the bigger transfer budgets. Under Levy 4-8 is our level

Money is irrelevant? Kane cost us nothing. No amount of money in the world would convince Salah to play for us.

It's about quality. It is very difficult for Tottenham to attract top players. No player has ever dreamt of playing for Spurs. The best players want to go to Barca, Real, Juve, Athletico, United, City, Liverpool, PSG.

Nobody cares that Spurs won some cups in the 60s.

Spurs have only been relevant in modern times because of Son, Bale and Kane, who lifted us from medicore, to plucky underdogs.

Yet somehow Spurs fans think the squad Is entitled to success because the owners make a ton of money from hotels, pop concerts and exotic cheese.

You’re obviously too young to have seen him play!

He didn’t take many prisoners!!

In his mid 70s now.

Played 48 times for us 1979-80

Lost his son aged 15

Wrote a book ‘Hard Man, Hard Knocks’ an autobiography

Retired now after managing Swansea, Bradford and Wales

Does charity work
His daughter was president of my college (at university). Before my time though.

He was at Tottenham before my time on this earth.
