The evidence shows otherwise. Conte sacked in 4th, Mourinho in 7th, Nuno 8th. All much better than Ange.

That doesn't mean they still weren't sacked for the results and/or losing the dressing room (Jose) or the fact that they were only a placeholder (Nuno).

Conte was hellbent on getting the sack...... He's the exception; not the rule.

I think he has to go. He says "thats the way we are mate" fine, but he keeps losing tells me he cant set up the team properly for now, what seems alot of games. If Terzic is available, now is the time to change. Lose to Everton at Sunday and he is definitley gone anyway. The end of last season and what has transpired this season shows Ange up a little bit too much. injuries, Levy and Ange are all to blame and players as well, no doubt. I really dont like the coaches Ange has as well. Hibs reject Montgomery is a bluffer, Wells and Jedinak are not grade A brilliance. Time for change Im afraid.

If I recall the results under Redknapp were still ok post 'distraction'.

Regardless, I reckon he had plenty of credit in the bank (or should have) and was sacked too soon.
There was a definite drop off. And even if there wasn't.. I just think that when the bloke is talking to Brendan Rodgers after we play Swansea. Asking him to be his assistant "when" he gets the England job. That's disrespect. We shouldn't settle for being someones fall back option if they don't get another job.

He finished 4th (yet form did dip enough to cost us 3rd or better which proved vital to CL qualification that year), but we all know the story.

- We backed him to the hilt during his legal troubles (and even gave him time off).
- Then he took his eye off the ball and started to twerk for the FA.
- Refused to sign a new deal.
- England then blow him out.
- Then starts hassling Levy for that new deal on the day of Levy's mum's funeral (*).

....No respect/commitment for anyone/anything but his own situ.

(*or something very, very similar.)

Hair of the dog is not an option after such a mammoth session either
I just hope he hasn't spent the whole time out in Govan all this time, he'll go native

If Terzic has got all things ready and starts on call, he gets my vote. These players need a German coach for me. Our players are like droids. Then we might as well get a true system in place with German football. And the bright young prospects we have will be eager to work with a young but more than qualified coach.

Well, about 7 managers have just done that

For us?

....And managers that we'd want here for more than a few bittersweet wins?

......If not you're talking about caretaker managers; the majority of which wouldn't command the respect to get the job done. and nothing about this squad is geared up for a Dyche/Fat Sam type of manager either.

Some yes, e.g. Moyes and Potter are clear improvements. Amorim maybe...The others I don't know/care.

But you're now moving the goalposts.

Spurs could get plenty of better managers in at short notice, even if only for the rest of the season.

Lets not pretend that this doesn't come with it's own problems both in terms of hiring and buy-in from the players.

We have a minimum of 21 games left this season, and likely more depending on progress in cups.

He's been in place for a year and a half and you are still talking about making assessments on whether he is willing to make adjustments and accept changes, despite the sheer mountain of evidence reflecting otherwise (bar a few games and good wins against top 6, which I'll give him credit for). One win in the last 9 league games - ONE WIN.

What have we done to this point? What is it that I'm clearly not seeing that suggests he deserves to keep managing this football club for another ~25 football games?
At this point the main argument seems to be that the system can work with two healthy center backs.

The point people are making is not that we shouldn't try.

The point is 2 fold:

1) "Anyone will do for few months" is a false/flawed (and disingenuous) sentiment
2) Clicking our fingers and expecting our top targets to come running mid season is fanciful (and somewhat arrogant) at best.

The problem in this discussion is it seems that people are insistent upon viewing the above = a veiled vote of confidence for Ange. It's not.

I’ll just put out my probably unpopular opinion for the meantime but I’m still Ange in. While our league form is horrendous, we’ve got one foot in the final of the league cup, I reckon we’ll be in the next round of the Europa and we’re obviously still in the FA Cup. Now if I were to be given the choice of top 4 with no cups or bottom half of the table with one or more cups, I’d take the latter.

Having said that, he’s essentially got to Feb 8 now. Players coming from injury, second leg of the league cup, final two Europa games, next round of FA Cup and few very winnable league games. If we come out of that reasonably well with the bounce of returning players, then I think he might as well be manager until the end of the season. If we end up out of the cups with no improvement in league form then unfortuently, we got to start planning for next year.

In summary, the next three weeks are going to be the biggest of the season.
