1 more window, give him until November time and if its still not showing genuine signs of significant improvement male a change then.

I think with this title win he deserves 1 more window to right the wrongs. 40 years of no European titles, that should come with a little leeway.

We’re not in a relegation fight. We’re going down.
The season we had 2 points from 8 games was a massive sign we could be going down. We did something about it and stayed up. The same would have happened this season if the team 18th had more points. We would not have made 8 changes for a PL match and picked up more points. We probably then would not have won the Europa cup.
I have said several times Ange must go but after the support of the fans after Wednesday , it will be difficult for Levy to do that as he clearly has the support of many fans that go and the players.
Just glad it is not my decision as it is a difficult one.
Keep him and we have a bad start to the season and it will be the wrong decision but win a domestic cup and have a better year in the PL than the right one.

This is such a tough decision. Yesterday was a stark reminder of how quickly this team capitulates and looks devoid of any structure.

However, the question to ask is would you take 6th and no Europa League? If the answer to that is yes, then you've already made your mind up on Ange. Personally, and like many of you, I was desperate for a trophy and when it finally came it was brilliant and will be enjoyed long into the summer. If like me you're one of these fans, then you have to look through the reasons/facts and decide if these are genuine reasons for the appalling league form or weak excuses. Let's take a look at those reasons/facts:

1. The obvious one is the injuries. Every team suffers injuries but looking at the league table Woolwich we're worst affected with 27 injuries, then us and Bournemouth with 22. But this number doesn't factor in length of injury or who the senior player is. I think we had the most days lost through injury but can't substantiate that. Key to us was the back four. When we can play Vic, Porro, Romero, VDV and Udogie, we've lost three games. They just haven't played enough. Played: 16 Won: 12 Drew: 1 Lost: 3
Is Ange's training and playing style a reason for this or were we just unlucky? 🤔

2. As a result of point #1, we've had to play most of the season making 6/7 changes from one match to the next. This doesn't allow for any kind of continuity. It was even worse towards the end of the season when it was clear the league was bring binned off in order to focus on the Europa and we had an A team and B team.

3. Who was responsible for the transfer window last summer. We bought one player who could make the first team better. None of us knew Bergvall would be a baller so he doesn't count. I know Ange said he signed off on this, but he has to say that. We desperately needed and still need experienced players who walk into the first team. Not prospects.

Anyway, lots to consider. I think it will be a parting of the ways in a couple of weeks. Both club and Ange saying it's by mutual agreement but ultimately it's a sacking. I don't think you can give him first ten games as its so much harder to find and get a replacement mid season.

If Levy has any balls he'd sack Ange and really try to push on, but one or neither of things will happen and he'll consider Europa to be credit in the bank for another decade.
Sacking Ange doesn't mean pushing on it means starting again. New manager might not like half the squad. Changing style will take time to implement. There is no guarentee we push on with a new manager but obviously that's no reason to keep Ange.

Cold light of day I just can’t see a scenario where him staying ends well, if I’m wrong I’ll happily own it, but it just has disaster written all over it.

Yes we put all our eggs in one basket, but that record over the last 12 games of 1 win(Southampton at home),2 draws, 9 loses, scored 11 conceded 27 is hard to make allowances for, this team just falls apart so easily, it desperately needs direction and strong leadership.

Make a change a third of the way through the season? When other managers have signed new contracts and we're potentially languishing in mid table?

Not a fucking chance. You'll only get free agents at that point, especially with the way Levy operates. The only one currently worth a sniff is Xavi, and he'll went plenty of pre-season prep time to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Pull the trigger now. 1 point per game is unforgivable - he's had two seasons with a decent squad who've looked utterly bereft of proper coaching for most of that.

And whoever is brought in must bring or be equipped with experienced coaches. No more Jedinaks, no more Mason.

I think the top sides are ruthless at this point and move on.

Let’s also remember it’s the perfect time for Ange to go as well, his stock will be high and he will get a decent gig somewhere with his reputation intact.

Someone said it’s like starting again - I feel we need to, but we have some decent young players and some older lads that need moving on. With CL money we should be able to push on and do much better in the league next season

...and we'd just won the Cup the season before!!

Symmetry???

I think it would be very difficult not to push on with a new manager next season when we’ve finished 17th this season!

Five things ruined our league season...

1. Aa squad that was not strong enough.
2. Despite the squad being weak, Ange still mismanaged it between Aug and Dec, with a lack of rotation.
3. Bad luck with injuries - some were just misfortunate.
4. Not all injuries were bad luck - Ange underestimated the physicality of the PL and the demands his system puts on the players.
5. A clear decision to prioritise the EL after January, which actually paid off.

It looks like Ange will get that 3rd season, and he simply must have learnt some harsh lessons. Two of the above were directly his fault.

It's not the players, it's the way he plays. This window wont change that. And if he stays, when he's replaced in November, the replacement won't have a pre-season. The only reasonable decision is to sack him before lunch today.

I know people are looking into the fact Ange DIDN'T address the crowd yesterday as some sort of indication he knows he's off ..

But personally, I reckon they took the mic. off him in CASE he made any more wild movie themed prophecies like he did from the Podium on Friday!!!!🤪
:ange-arms::ange-arms2::ange-lol::ange-pray::ange-facepalm:

My fingers are tightly crossed that he's leaving pronto but I have a feeling he'll still be here next season. If he is, by god do we need to bring in some higher quality experienced players. I don't know if I can sit through another whole season watching the same dross. If I thought we'd be bringing home the CL cup at the end of it I might buckle up but that really isn't happening. Is it?

There is something which sits within this, an over reliance on Van der Ven and Romero being fit for every game, because to run his system in the prem, you need some of the best centre backs in the world.

Even then we're still exposed on set pieces and we get cut through, the amount of goals where an attacker is unmarked on a far post has become painfully predictable and not once did Ange acknowledge that defensively we're not up to it.

If we accept the logic 'we'll score more than we let in', we're not clearly not getting rewarded with goals for that level of risk, we've scored 1 goal in the last 3 prem games and that was a penalty.

If that’s the case, why would he say the thing about the third season? He’s not that daft to say that if he already knew he was leaving. Would make him look like a complete idiot.
Tough to keep track of all his quotes but he's said about Season 3 being better than Season 2. And also about sometimes killing off the main character.

It's all just a bit of pantomime in my opinion.
