And yet Conte wasn’t properly backed.
Ironically this crop of players is suited to Conte. IMO.
All these young lads would die a slow death under Conte.
He'd love Solanke though.

Ange Postecoglou hails ‘positive window’ as Tottenham rule out further signings
Spurs are set for a quiet transfer deadline day.www.independent.co.uk
We have done nothing to improve the starting 11. Gray, Odobert, Bergvall, Werner, Yack. 85m spent on players that don't improve us. Throw in Phillips, Veliz, Spence for another 40m.
Clearly we are building for the future. Conte was the last roll of the dice to win something before Kane left and Son declined.
I think it boils down to a lack of alternatives.
It's not even halfway through the season.
Do you write off the season now, sack Ange, and bring in a temporary manager?
Or, do you keep him on through January and hope that he get's some good winter signings in January?
Personally, I think there is a real lack of depth to the squad.
If you had two players vying for every position, that would push both of them to perform better, and would also allow for better rotations.

SarrNAME US one SPurs player who has improved since 2022/23 ??
Just one ( Forster ..? Davies? )
It's not the only reason I'm Ange In, but on some level I just think his footballing philosophy is correct.
I think when you're leading, getting the next goal is an underrated strategic objective, ESPECIALLY if you are a team that typically wants to play attacking, possession-based football in normal game states. Taking a step back to control the game is very often a mistake.
That simplicity and clarity of philosophy, and training the players to always have that same objective, and to always know exactly what the tactics are regardless of situation, makes a lot of sense to me.
We need to train and excel in all phases (not being able to defend a set piece has nothing to do with "philosophy" for instance) but I'm keen to stick with the fundamentals of Angeball.
People are much too quickly forgetting how little tolerance they had for wretched anti-football tactics the second anything went wrong.
They're certainly blossoming under big AngeAll these young lads would die a slow death under Conte.

Depends who is available to replace him. If out means Mason then fuck that, it’s pointless. Show me who the replacement is or might be then I’ll decide.
There are bigger fish to fry here than just the manager.
If your aunt had a dick she'd be your uncle, I'm not sure what your point is?It would still be better than where we are now.
If it doesn't work, bring someone else in.
Xabi alonso for us would be akin to Liverpool signing klopp sadly with how much we fuck up manager appointments and spending we won't even tempt him hereDepends who is available to replace him. I get you want ENIC to spend more but they won't. The options are to stick with a manager who is clearly not working like Ange/AVB or take a punt that the next one is more Poch than Mourinho.
The next manager likely fails, too, but there is a chance he won't. Ange has already proven a failure.
First season result was buoyed by an aberrantly good first 2 months. That's objectively false.
His first season ended in a better league position than he took over and his second season isn't over yet.
People can make any argument they like but unless Ange gets sacked before the end of the season, we can't say he's proven to be a failure until we are out of all cups and mathematically can't finish above where we did last year.
I don't blame people for freaking out about a bad patch of form, but they are in fact freaking out about a bad patch of form. That's objectively false.

None of this season's objectives have been decided yet.
