In the EL we played low block and won but that isn't sustainable as a Spurs manager (see Nuno or Jose).

The issue I think with his press is actually something Jose talked about. You can press high with a very high line but you need to be compact. AVB used to be very spread out and that was fine in that his system was entirely based on ball retention as a means to defend but lose the ball and he was always fucked, Ange plays quite spread out like AVB but much less ball retention and much more direct attack. It gets the same result though, lose the ball and you are 2-3 passes from conceding because with being compact you cannot counterpress well.

Our lack of being compact means we are vulnerable when we lose the ball but when we have the ball players aren't close enough to form triangles to build up and break down teams. Maybe I am wrong but our play when we are normally playing Angeball just seems not compact enough and that seems to be the main issue and why our players always look individually like they are fighting 2-3 opposition players. I remember under AVB this same issue, it looked like we had only 8/9 men on the pitch.

I thought he should have gone after the Leicester home match

Then, after we won the Europa, I think he has earned another summer

I think he will be gone by Xmas though
So, you believe he believe he should get the summer. But not because of some belief he'll turn it around.. Because as you've said you're sure he'll be gone before the midway point of the season.

I've seen a lot of fans with this sort of take.. If you believe it'll end in disaster, then what is the logic? Besides some sense of masochism.

What a strange situation this has turned out to be!!!
An absolutely terrible Premier league season that would & should get any Spurs manager fired for underperforming but how do you fire a manager that managed to win a trophy & find the backdoor to the Champions league.
I read that fans are saying that he should get till Xmas but with the mid-table being so competitive it's hard to recover from a poor start. For me, most managers benefit from a pre-season so mid season manager swaps are dangerous.
I certainly wont pretend to understand Levy's thought process but I expect Ange to be fired.

I think he's bought himself another season, but I think Levy won't have the same patience if results don't improve

He's basically on his last strike, only because he won Europa

If you're not sure get rid. Been here plenty with Tottenham Hoddle kept on despite a poor season and lasted 6 games Ramos downed tools after the league cup win lasted 8 games. Others like Ardiles Francis, Gross we all knew they were done and not good enough but they started a new season and all gone by November. Its pointless and its limited who you can then attract in the autumn.

The dust has settled. He has to go. I backed him all year and I'm glad I did but now is the time for ruthless precision. We have to act like a big club and move fast.

He practically sold out on all his principles to win the trophy. We low blocked with our best defence available to get over the line. Our two best players in the final were our two centre backs. Romero got played of the tournament. I'm glad he sold out and he won us an amazing trophy. Brilliant.

But lets face it. Where are we under Ange going into next season? His preferred style of play is not working. We lost 22 games in the league this season playing his way. We've little to build on under Ange. ITs a young squad with tonnes of potential. I think now is the time for change.

Sacking Ange doesn't mean pushing on it means starting again. New manager might not like half the squad. Changing style will take time to implement. There is no guarentee we push on with a new manager but obviously that's no reason to keep Ange.
i think we buy players and tell the manager to use them. we don't buy them their preferred players anymore. we aren't starting again. the younger players we've bought recently are getting older and we're going to push on with them.

I read that Frank has a good relationship with Lange. they worked together at a Danish club called Lyngby Boldklub.

I've also read that Frank has a hefty release clause in his Brentford contract of £9m, if true Levy won't like that especially as he'd also have to pay off Postecoglou.

He’s dined out for way to long on his first 10 league games, since which he’s lost 34 of out of 66 league games conceding 117 goals, there’s nothing whatsoever to suggest anything will change under him next season, he was found out a long time ago and adopting the latter stage europa league tactics are not a long term solution, he simply has to go, it would be criminal to keep him, I appreciate last week and I think he acted as classy as I’ve seen him in the build up and following the game and he deserves nothing but credit for that triumph, but you can’t let your heart rule your head and keeping him would be a huge error IMO.

Seeing as he loves a good quote Ange would do well to remember that you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

The league form has been consistently bad since April of 2024. Honestly, I don't think rotation has anything to do with it. It's just been the long term direction of the team..

Giving him the first ten or so games to see where we are would be the most worst thing we could do.. Either make a commitment to him because you think he's the right man, by surrounding him with top coaches.. Or make a decision to end it now because you don't think he's the right man..

Giving him the first couple months smacks of, "We'll get stick if we sack him now. So lets wait until the feeling on him turns again, and criticism of us sacking him would be at a minimum and then we'll do it. " By then we've wasted a fantastic opportunity to kick on thats fallen in our lap. It would be typically cowardly of this board, so I agree that's what I think they'll do.

I don't really disagree but I still think giving him that first 10 games is what we will do. Not necessarily what we should do

I’d say it’s been pretty bad since October 2023 when we played the high line nine against the Chavs!
