Wasnt like he didn’t say in the summer we needed 2 CBs.

Club let the team down. No point looking outside at our season getting fucked up when the club left the squad short.

He's had him signed for ages and barely used him, more excuses imo.

"If we would have had him from the start of the season our season would have been different" How so? Would he have played him more? I mean there have been games where he could have used him during this dire run of form and he has been benched.

I don't buy it, it's just constant deflection with Ange, the "inside and outside" comment that he left very vague and refused to elaborate on, one week he's saying we did great business in the summer, the next there are problems "inside" the club, the next he's saying we have plans in place for the summer already, he said that finishing 4th is "meaningless" his exact words, now he suddenly cares about it.

Constantly contradicting himself, it just feels like deflection to me and his demeanor is showing that as well, you're free to disagree but all I could see watching that presser last night was a man under pressure and doubting himself and lashing out at the club and supporters for his own failure.

We didn't have to be in this position, we could have been home and dry if we weren't putting in terrible performances the last few months and those performances were ultimately down to his stubbornness to change and poor tactical planning and him complaining about not having drag from the start of the season when we have barely seen him play since signing him and been going through this shit run of form is just more proof of his own failures.

Real leaders don't pass the buck, they take it on the chin and fix things, like I said before, don't talk about it, be about it.

Majorly pissed off that the media is going on about us as fans potentially wanting Woolwich’s title bid to be derailed, when several years ago the PROFESSIONAL PLAYERS at clubs were inferring they wanted Leicester to win the league rather than Spurs. Coupled with stupidly “naive” displays against Leicester yet very hard performances against Spurs.

Pricks.
Not just the players...

Mark Clattenburg-
"I didn't give them an excuse because my gameplan was let them lose the title".

Yep, 100% agreed. That is next level blame game to shit on fans and everything, after:
- you have delivered 10 points from 10 EPL games;
- you oversaw your squad totally fucking embarrassed and ripped apart within first half of NLD despite having 14 days to come up with solutions to play better and be prepared;
- you haven't got the team to play even 1 (!) game in 2024 well from start to finish (Villa game hardly counts, they played most 2nd half with 10 men and they were dangerous to our goal even on 80th minute while being 0:2 down)
- you have been faced with painfully obvious issues in defending and has seen your coached team to keep 1 (!) clean sheet within 18 (!) games
- within last month, ONLY two goals from attackers in open play came when Liverpool was already 4:0 up; apart from that we either have not scored, converted penalty or saw our defenders score goals, cause in attack there is 0 fucking idea and pointless horseshoe football

After all that to come out and divert blame for doing pathatically shit job - it is borderline outrageous.
Eat an humble-pie and look into mirror before calling others names.
Yep he's doing a masterful job of deflecting from his own poor performances.

There are two sides to this:
1) Does he need better players to execute his system? Yes but every manager could make that claim
2) Should he be doing better with the squad he has? Also yes. We should have secured top 4 comfortably this year and this run of defeats has been truly shocking.

I think we should back him in the summer as this means better players which is a move in the right direction regardless of who the manager is.

There have been enough bright sparks to make me curious to see how we perform with a few upgrades to the starting XI.

But Ange needs to stop with the fan-blaming, cryptic "culture" line and own the job at hand.

Demand better players this summer and if it is not delivered then call out the board. Be ruthless with the squad rebuild. Show more tactical flexibility next season rather than standing silently on the sidelines while Johnson hits the ball at the defender's shins for the 7th time. DON'T PLAY PLAYERS WITH NO TECHNICAL ABILITY LIKE EMERSON ROYALE AND EXPECT A MAGIC RESULT. Be pragmatic in certain games to nick us a point. Actually SHOW UP for our London derbies, especially at home. Don't get knocked out of cup competitions in the early stages.

He hasn't used him because we now have 2 CB's fit that are better than him and VDV wasn't fit enough to play LB. Also not that great at LB based on last night.

You really can't understand that we needed Dragusin for when Romero and VDV were injured and next year when we have Europe so need to rotate?
Better than Skipp and Emerson and we actually looked solid against the best attack in the league. I'd bet good money we'd have picked up more points in the last 6 games had he run with that back 4.

Our run of form during the period VDV was injured wasn't much different to the run of form we have had since getting him back, our best run of form was prior to the Chelsea game and one could even argue that since Maddison has come back we have performed worse because he has been out of form massively, during the period of injuries we actually were grinding out a few results.

injuries were a tiny blip in comparison to teams around us, people acting like we have been consumed with injuries the entire season, we haven't, sure, having Drag for those two months after Chelsea may have changed some results, no denying that but the reality is, our worst run of form has been over the last 2-3 months and Drag hasn't been utilised at all.

You say VDV wouldn't have been fit enough to play LB, I thought we and he played pretty well last night, if we would have played that team over the last 2-3 months we may have won some more games but the stubbornness from our manager has prevented that imo.

We’ve heard far worse from managers before, some of it from our own.

The whole thing is being blown out of proportion IMHO.

We want our players to show some steel and backbone, yet we’re whining about some comments that could be taken either way, said in the emotion of post match where he’s seen his own team’s fans happy to lose and not being quiet about it either.

We need to harden up as fanbase and stop forensically dissecting everything looking for the negative.

Take the medicine and move on!
It doesn't matter what other managers said before, we are here now not living in the past.

I don't think is being blow out of proportion, he behaved and said things not suitable for the club. He may have an agenda or not.

It's the manager's job to create steel and backbone in the squad. yesterday's rant is not helpful at all.

The fanbase is here to stay forever and are used to such antics. Owners, players and managers come and go.

Too long. CBF’d

The more time that goes by the more I have zero issues with his comments. He said the foundations are fragile and I don’t know how anyone can really argue with that.

We’ve been talking about how mentally fragile these players are for weeks now, and some for years. The fans are at their wits ends and just look at how this place, and I’m including myself, have reacted to recent losses, not even including leading up to this game. I’m not saying that isn’t justified, rather he understandably wants a united front both with the team and supporters.

I take his comments as that he’s just now realizing what a knife’s edge the club sits on, and realizing the scope of work it will take to turn it around.
Exactly this. How people disagree with what he said is beyond me. I don’t understand how you can get upset with quotes that only show his desire to create a winning culture in the club. Bizarre overreaction from this fanbase

I completely understand the sentiment of wanting us to lose to them, and I don’t disagree with it. But it IS inherently wrong, and getting upset with Ange for saying the cold truth is unfair in my opinion

Is this a serious question?

The mentality of this club is on the floor, from owner to management to players to fans, if there wasn't much evidence of it over the last 30 years or so when we've only picked up 3 trophies since 1991 for Christ's sake.

We obviously lack a winning culture which is a collective issue and since that's happened our fans no longer have the belief of anything this club does, look at the reaction in here over the past few weeks for example our fans have turned on yet another manager in the space of a few weeks.

It's a collective issue that needs addressing from top to bottom, to bottom to top.
Let's say culture, however you define it, wins games. Are we saying the culture at Woolrich is far superior (based on results) to that at Spurs? I would argue that Woolrich spent more, and selected players better, than Spurs have. And if anyone factors fans into the equation, theirs are sure not superior to ours. I think culture is often just having a plan and sticking to it. Good managers own their results. Postecoglou came through the door making excuses and now, after five losses in six games, he's still making excuses. That is not leadership.
