Seems to be a lot of anger in here this morning.
I don’t think people meditate enough.

You clearly just want to cuddle Big Ange. It’s a safe space here. You can admit that.

Anyway back to business. Fuck you for saying fuck Sonny!!!!
:sonmask:

Man deserves your respect. Been here a decade and still gets annoyed when substituted. I want that passion in my players.
And when have I been angry this morning?🤣🤣🤣

The manager deserves stick at times but not yesterday. He done his job perfectly yesterday but if you don’t think so then he’s fucked if we have fans that think that way.

I love Sonny and had been one of my favourite Tottenham players but he isn’t at that stage of his career when he commands playing every minute every week. He’s not performing at that level now but will always contribute because of his ability.

Got to say, I’ve been very supportive of Ange because I could see consistent methodology at work, I could see weaknesses improving and the underlying metrics support that strongly.

Last week I was just plain impressed with Palace, who according to their own fans, played their best game of the season. They were outstandingly good, and That can happen.

But this week was a really hot mess imo, that was more like the dark days of last season than anything we’ve seen this season. There was very little of the ethos or tactics that Ange has preached relentlessly, that we have mostly seen this season, and this despite Villa being fucking insipid.

I thought the team selection was inviting the kind of creatively void performance we got first half. In the first 45 minutes we’d not had a single shot on target, had an XG of 0.17, and not even dominated the ball like we usually do (53%). That’s also got to be the fewest passes we’ve completed in a game, and not just second half. In other words not the usual Ange performance markers. That’s also possibly the highest XG we’ve conceded all season. Again, against an abjectly insipid Villa.

I hope today is an outlier, I enjoyed the goals and result, but I didn’t see a coherent methodology. I saw some slightly whacky idea mud balls being flung at the wall and luckily some stuck. We allowed more chances than usual and got away with it. We’ve played much more coherently and not got a result.
Who gives fuck about xg, they had one shot on target you clown.

Their goal was a literal tap in too which accumulated 0.75xG so them statistics are always skewed. I find it mad how people laugh at the underlying stats when we were unlucky losers against Newcastle and Woolwich, but then use them against us when maybe our 4-1 win was slightly flattering

Son certainly didn’t help matters with his reaction when his number came up. The whole stunned and wide eyed act when he pointed to himself was stupid. He’s experienced enough to know better.

Also, at that point in the match, he wasn’t performing any better or any worse than the rest of the team. He’d put in one superb cross for the goal, but otherwise was pretty anonymous.

Pretty sure it was more like 0.9xg, it was literally on the goal line, pens are normally 0.75xg

I think it proves these stats are largely bollocks. Other than the goal, the header against the post and the half chance Watkins dragged wide they didnt do anything. I dont think the 4-1 win was particulaly flattering. Not for me to tell people what enjoyment to get out of a game but being so driven by stats just takes all the joy and emotion out of football imo.

played well, but they had a man wrongly sent off and are 13th in the league for a reason. its not a great result in context, everyone beats them these days which is why they are where they are.

we are 1 point ahead of 10th after 10 games, you think thats an achievement do you?
What are you expecting , we are shrinking the wage bill , largely buying kids and sold Kane . I think we are doing pretty well all things considered. The solution for better is to be discussed in the ENIC thread , I have derailed to many threads getting sidetracked on that topic .

the squads better than being 1 point ahead of 10th and 9th over the last 38 games.

yea good win yesterday, first one for fucking ages. the last good win was villa on the 10th of march so lets not get carried away. we lost to crystal palace just over a week ago, gave them their only win in 10.

They just drew with Chelsea so that's not true.

We've won 9 games out of our last 11. I wouldn't expect you to know that though.

One day you'll convince us all that you do actually support spurs...it will not be today though.
