Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Surprised the people on here is not pointing their fingers more on the players. Why are they letting away so easy? Where are their pride , giving a showing like that?

Yesterday was a new low, but neither are our manager clueless, or the players in general incompetent. We strolled just a couple of games back, and destroyed City in their own backyard.

Bournemouth just seemed to want it so much more than us yesterday. Embarassing night it was, due to our lack of fight.

Still think we will bounce back, and make a way better shift, vs Chelsea. Why? This is how we are nowadays, extremely inconsistent.

A young spine and injuries, part of the explanation, but failing when we need to deliever is unfortunately not new when it comes to Spurs. This mentality is what Conte adreessed, and needs to change going forward.
The mentality comes from the top of the club. It'll take the force of character of Conte and the patience and focus of Gandhi to change it. Or more likely, new owners.

At this stage I would be full Ange out if there was a credible person to come in and sort out the mess that is Tottenham Hotspur. But I can't think of a candidate. Nobody can turn this ship around. We are mediocre from top to bottom as a club and it seems to be by choice of the management.

I’d love a dynastic manager, building teams over and over, winning trophies etc. I’m sure you all would too. Was discussing ‘dynastic’ managers v ‘project’ managers the other day with a mate. The former are rare, the latter the norm (way before we called them project managers).

Anyway, the relationship changed/began to sour between Ange and us ‘the fans’ before and after City last season. While there have been the odd ‘AP’ chants in the ground this season, the doubts (on line, at games, in the pub) have really grown and culminated with last nights ‘scenes’ at Bornmuff. Personally I find him arrogant and punchy without substance. But hey Ho.

That’s the PR stuff then. The playing side - you know tactics, motivation, in game management - has been increasingly amateurish despite the odd high profile win.

No idea around set pieces and no desire to change or work on them despite the trend (set by Woolwich) for winning games by attacking and defending set pieces well.

Bizarre team selections. Hanging kids out to dry. No leadership. No discernible style now (after demonstrating one at the beginning). In game substitutions leaving us flummoxed.

He’s a dead man walking now whatever your views on Ange. We all know the script by now - Levy will throw him under the bus to protect himself - especially as the fans have turned.

Have lost the love for this club

So, that shouldn't be an issue
It shouldn’t be.

But binning off everyone except Mason will cost money, and paying out Iraola’s contract (and likely he’d want his coaching staff too not fuckers thrust on him) will cost money and Levy is fucking tight.

I’m sure Slot for example had other reasons to turn us down, but paying out £15m odd in compensation probably didn’t appeal to Levy either.

If we pay out Iraola’s contract and get him in this current season I’ll be amazed.

This summer's transfer window was absolutely criminal. Reeks of wage cutting and

Absolutely no chance Levy is paying any compensation to another club if he can help it. Also our club is so badly run and toxic right now why would any manager want to come here and ruin their reputation.

We're totally fucked unless things at the top start changing.

there wont be new owners, they are here for life, that's the scary thing. It's just an endless cycle of this right here while the club get richer. A small Poch blip aside, its the same old fucking garbage. and even that still crumbled into a toxic mess like this after 4 years without anything to show for it.

"I have seen the managers they've had on the bench, you look to disrupt the figure of the manager and protect the other situation. 20 years and there is the bold cunt and they never won something! why?
:contehandshead: Antonio Conte 2023.

Yep.

This is IT.

Shiny expensive stadium, shallow squad.

Didn’t Ossie go in November after 5 defeats (and 5 wins)?

Why is Ange given more time with a lesser squad, no ex player credit and a more ineffective style ?

I pick Ossie as my compression as he was also all about the beautiful game…

Me neither, but Brighton have just hired a 31 year old who has them in the European places.

My point being, there are plenty of capable managers out there. (Yes it's harder mid season and Brighton have great recruitment).

I think we have the same point. Plenty of capable managers (we have hired some post-Poch) but can they succeed at this club as it is being run today? They would simply end up at the same place.

Daniel Levy was genuinely trolling our fans with this appointment. I said so at the time and I'll say it again now.
Daniel Levy was trolling the fan base and taking the piss with this appointment.

He's so far out of his depth it's a joke.

He's not the only one to blame, of course, but you can't sack the players, the bald bastard upstairs is going nowhere, so get him out and roll the dice. Who knows, Daniel might luck out again like he did with Jol / Redknapp / Poch.

Only thing for certain is this can't continue. Say what you want, but overseeing defeats to Bournemouth, Palace, Galatasaray & Ipswich, with home draws to Fulham & Roma (despite taking the lead in both) in the last few weeks is not what he should be getting out of this crop of players. We're never winning the league, but we're better than this. And that is on the manager

Get him gone right now. If he's still here in Jan, season is a write off.

For a mid season change I think that Cocneicao is the best bet.

But ideally we need someone that is good at/accepting of promoting from the academy and developing youth.

We know that Levy is hesitant to splurge on ready made names. So we need someone that is happy to be a talent developer and who can get the most out of said talents.

My two personal favorite picks would be either Valverde at Bilbao, or Hütter at Monaco.

Valverde would be very hard to pry away. But he is clearly good at developing players given that Bilbao refuse to sign players that aren't connected to the Basque country. And Hütter will sadly never get a fair swing in England if he comes because the English press will eat him alive given that he is a Austrain named Adolf.

He has this reputation as a care free easy going Australian. However his sarcastic response to media questions, even distain for football journalists, comes across as looking like a n prat. Now he is arguing with fans, he did it last year in the City match, now is getting into screaming matches with the clubs travelling fans.

He is anything but laid back. Overly sensitive to criticism & appears to have a chip on his shoulder. An aussie mate of mine reckons this stems from his very modest playing career ( I think he maxed out as semi-professional in Australia), plus the fact Australia is considered a football backwater & therefore Ange for a long time has never been taken serious given he was a glorified pub footballer from minnow football nation. He has had his achievements in Australia belittled by the press. Basically half his football career is considered not serious.

Needs to snap out of it. Because as soon as Conte started badmouthing the club, I knew it was over. If Ange keeps getting into shouting matches with fans he will accelerate his exit.

One team looked coached yesterday.

The other does this thing where they all run forward as fast as possible then lose the ball.

Too much unnecessary running. Gaps every where. 0 midfield. Complete lack of structure.

I don't like it but, He needs to go... How many times do we say that's our worst performance blah blah blah.

Would anyone be happy seeing a Tottenham team coached like that at home?

I'm totally with you, he's out of his depth. Read my posts tonight I want him gone.

But how many more failed managers is Levy going to preside over? How many more disastrous transfer windows? These players just turn up when they fancy it, doesn't matter who the manager is.

18 months from now we will be right back here again
Until there's changes at the very top , this shambles will continue plodding along .
