Well he stops doing what Ange is doing.

The coaches, as a group, will have a different approach, likely discussed and considered independently.

Which is what exactly?

Unless he has magic hands and can heal injuries I don't know what the appeal is of this guy as if has some magical formula that the players start responding to?

Drops the backline fifteen or so metres. Stops telling Porro and Spence et al to always invert. Maybe asks them to play as more traditional fullbacks.

Who knows. Whatever the collective group of coaches think is the best options to navigate the rest of season.

Same mentality that led to United keeping Ten Hag, even thought the entire footballing community knew that doing so would be fucking retarded. And look how that turned out. Another 200m blown in the summer on a busted flush manager and now United are having to sell their academy stars to break even. If we're not careful we could be in the same situation in a year.

I don't give a fuck if we win every single cup going between now and the end of the season, Ange has shown tactically he's not up to it and should be out the door the day the season finishes. He won't win them anyway, because news flash - we're shit. And if by some miracle he wins something, thank him with a nice handshake before slamming the door on his way out.
I agree I want Ange out- it’s just going to be very hard if he does win a cup given how desperate everyone is for a piece silverware.

underwhelming clips to be honest. his role in the sane goal against liverpool was nice, the rest was meh.

hopefully he suits the prem, dont find him exciting tho, if bayern are willing to let him go on loan it tells us hes not good enough for top football. hard to get excited about anything with caveman in charge, its been over a year of dross, true excitement to watch us again will come when hes gone.
Aren’t Bayern absolutely stacked with wing talent- and Kane at ST? It seems fairly easy to believe there’s not enough games for him no matter how good he is.

Fergie was quite reliant on his coaches doing the training ground work, leaning on your staff to implement your ideas isn't a crime.

Fergie had two of the best assistant coaches in the game in Queiroz & Meulensteen .

Ange desperately needs someone of that ilk. The assistant coaches we have now are just not good enough.

I know Meulensteen was the assistant manager of Australia who he helped get to the round of 16 in the last World Cup. Perhaps Ange could use his connections to get him over to Tottenham.

Weve got quite a promising squad now. My worry is Ange destroys them all with his brand of headless chicken chasing that their careers are shortened.

Ange in!!! Never doubted the guy!! We're winning the lot!! #COYS

Jokes aside, thank fuck for that. Basically means we're safe and we can breathe a bit.

As for the game, we were pretty crap, gave Brentford the ball and let them huff and puff and try to break us down, and we got a bit fortunate with the way things went, the xG says they should have won it pretty handily (2.4 -- 0.9). But a win is a win. Who knew what a bit of solid defending can do now and again eh?

I'm guessing our football gave Ange an aneurysm. Cos it goes against all his "principles" or whatever. My guess is that the players are just utterly fed up of losing and decided themselves they weren't gonna leave themselves too open in this one. We'll never know. Either way, more of that against Liverpool please, it's the only way we're not getting hammered in that one.

Some notes on the game:

- Moore really looked his age out there and was rightly shanked. He has some growing to do for sure. Definitely there's a lot of potential there but for all those moaning about why he's not been starting, there's your answer. He's not ready for the big leagues, yet.

- Spence our best player. Kept Mbeumo pretty quiet. He's so much better than Porro defensively. Every Spence MOTM makes Ange's decision to freeze him out look increasingly baffling.

- Richarlison again proving he's not a viable centre forward. Can't keep hold of the ball to save his life. We need to sell him before he injures himself and we're stuck with him. Solanke's return can't come any sooner.

- Wasn't particularly impressed with Brentford. If this was Frank's Spurs audition, he failed it, and for exactly the reason I was concerned about; he doesn't seem to know what to do in possession. We let them have the ball, they huffed and puffed, and basically spammed low xG crosses for 90 minutes against the worst defence in the league. I think that xG value flatters them too, I can't remember them creating much of note with any good passages of play. They were able to work it out of defence OK but I put that more on our crap high press than anything special they did.

Anyway, guess that basically means Ange has the rest of the season. We'll see how that goes. Again I don't think today was any indication of an upturn in performances. We were largely crap. We beat Brentford playing them at their own game but on another day could have easily lost that. Anyway... COYS
I doubt the players decided to play differently. I think is was more that without van de vyn and with so many games in such a short window it wasn't practical to play Ange Ball. The upside is the players showed good defensive concentration. For Brentford to get that number of corners and not put the ball in the net makes a positive statement. And, for all the criticism of Bissouma he was instrumental in pressuring the Brentford keeper on their own goal.
