Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Well I’ve been watching matches at 4-5am, spent $$$ on multiple subscriptions to watch, have gone to work on 3 hours sleep after watching a game, and put myself through the wringer of this forum, for a start.
But would still consider myself a casual fan.
And I don’t see whats wrong with that.
I would add though that the first and last thing I do each day is check for any Tottenham news. So maybe it’s a tad more than casual????

So when Ange hopefully gets the boot will you still be a ‘casual’ fan?

Bearing in mind that the term ‘fan’ is short for ‘fanatic’ which I’ve been since 1961?

We finished 1 point off Villa with a higher goal difference. Ange failed getting us an almost guaranteed Champions League spot. The only thing that has been a massive achievement was going unbeaten for the first 10 games. No manager in the PL has ever won the first 10 games and not qualified.
I was Ange in for a long time, hoping for a repeat of those first ten games. Ipswich woke me up.

I've come to realise that we weren't actually playing the way Ange wanted in those first matches. Those first ten games weren't Ange ball, they were liberated Conte ball.

The way we are playing now is how Ange wants to set his team up. We are replicating exactly how Celtic looked at the end of his tenure when playing in Europe - like amateurs. In the conference league Bodo Glimt cut them wide open through the midfield, defenders looked lost and out of position, and dreadful passes getting turned over leading to acres of space for the opposition to find the back of the net.

I'm afraid he just has to go, like please.

We all understand the injuries we have had. The whole world knows. We all know he only has a limited number of players to use, academy kids notwithstanding.

But we can't be watching games which we didn't adjust according to our terrible situations. If we didn't have the personnel, how about we emphasis more on defending for now and play on the counter? Or maybe we don't even need to counter. Fucking sit on our half for 90 minutes and waste time. Because we only need a draw at Anfield and we would be in a fucking final, one game away from lifting a cup. It wouldn't be pretty, the games would be fucking bored, but if the results supported his claims of being so limited in numbers, we can all be shut up if we were in the final regardless of a bore 0-0.

The same can be done at Villa. Yet Ange continues with some half-fucked Ange ball, pressing without fully pressing from the defenders, leaving us gaping holes between the front and back. Again, we don't need Ange to count on his fingers the players we are missing, he knew we couldn't be playing as good without these players, how about we fucking abandon such play until they are back and support his claims with a smarter set up?

I have given him the patience with the league games as the leverage with the high bet of us not relegated. But cup games are one off and he couldn't make it count even when the league game experiments have failed for him to see and reassess. Honestly the fans are not evening bothering criticising the players when they were set up for failure with no game plans from him.

The cup games exit should be the clearest indicator of him that we have absolutely no adaption capability without a set of player playing so specifically his way. Even with ALL the players back, it will still not be enough - he's not going to get the perfect XI unless he signs AI. We begrudge Conte for only playing with his own type of players. Currently is no different and it is worse.

I forget if I have asked already but where are you based? Bangkok?

What sort of dickhead gets up in the middle of the night to watch Spurs lose.

Independent's version:

Tottenham

Overall, it does appear that Spurs have had the worst injury problems in the league this season.

In addition to currently having 11 players out, the length of the different layoffs – and the importance of the various players – mean that Postecoglou probably does deserve some slack.

The starting centre-back pairing of Romero and van de Ven have been out since October, with the Argentine having foot and ankle problems and the Dutchman suffering hamstring issues. Both were rushed back for the December match against Chelsea, but neither finished the game and they’ve been suffering issues ever since.

Vicario has been out since the end of November, while another starting defender, Destiny Udogie, has been out since the end of 2024, and they are now lacking cover at centre-back after the injury to Dragusin.

In midfield, Rodrigo Bentancur missed two league matches through concussion, while Pape Sarr missed two matches this year with a knock and James Maddison has been out since the end of January.

Brennan Johnson has been out since mid-January with a calf strain, with Dominic Solanke suffering a knee injury around the same time.

Wilson Odobert has been out since September, while Richarlison has missed a total of 15 games in the league and was then forced off against Brentford last week. Finally, Werner has been out since the beginning of 2025.

It's not really debatable is it that it's the worst injury crisis and at the worst time.

But his decisions during it have also cost him and his decision to recruit young when the club couldn't sign the experienced players he wanted has also cost him.

I'd also say that for whatever reason he made it, the decision not to put Spence in the initial EL squad has cost him.

People talk about the first 10 games, but last season we also went 16 league games Won 10, Drew 3, Lost 3. Certainly top 4 form.

We suffered 2 poor runs.

1st run we lost Udogie, Romero, VDV & Romero.. and were forced to play Davies/Royal at CB....surprise surprise 5 games without a win.

2nd run, we had to play all the best teams in the league, one after another. By this point, the players were knackered due to our lack of squad depth.

We played just 41 games last season. The least out of everyone in the PL.

In the summer we let Hoijberg, Dier, Emerson Royal and Skippy leave. And replaced them with kids. Knowing we might play 69 games.

We’ve already played 39 with a potential 23 to come still.

Well it looks like Fab is on the case and we know the useless bald turd listens to him.
Did anyone find out what Munn does yet?

Munn seems to be employed to keep Ange employed.

It'll be interesting to see how resilient ticket sales are if/when Son leaves. In a lot of ways it feels like his star power is keeping the stands full more than our actual football right now.

Wish one of those Son fans would buy my United and City tickets. That's £190 i could use now far more than the effort to go to those games.

Been reading paratici. Not sure I want another italian to manage us. Wont be long weather is shit, food shit, homesick etc. High maintenance italian managers imo.

Mancini, Ancelotti, Conte, Ranieri all won Premier League titles. Possibly the most productive country for managers for the PL?
There's others that have done well as well.

Usually I rate this guy's content. But fuck me, it's like he's not watched a proper game of ours under Ange. Just regurgitating stats and spouting off about our goal difference, as if walloping Lopetegui's Spam and a 10 men Ten Hag united in crisis is something to crow about. Anyone with eyes who's been forced to watch us week in week out by now knows how utterly uncoached this team is, with or without our first XI available.

Half our fanbase cite goal difference as evidence we're not shit.
They also cite our record of only ever losing by 1 goal. Despite the fact that a) that happens more often than we win and b) we narrow the scoreline late on in many cases

If our own fans are too dim to see how shit we are, you can't expect neutrals to be all over it.

I’m going to ask a serious question? Are you fans or are you supporters?

Are you TTID or TTwhenweareinthechampionsleague?

Ange, love or hate him is a man among men, a true human for others. Our so called fans are crucifying our players and everyone involved at the club.

And he has stood up and taken full responsibility, sack him but do not fault the effort of the players of this magnificent football club.

Archie Gray is 18, he’s a defensive midfielder and he has deputised as a centre back against some of if not most of the best players in world right now.

And he has not looked out of place that is unbelievable, he has absolutely done this club, it’s legacy the badge and the supporters proud.

Mikey Moore is 17………let that sink in, what were you doing at 17? I bet it wasn’t breaking the record for youngest goalscorer in Europe in British history, by a mile.

The kid also has not looked out of place competing against the best in the game.

Lucas Bergvall is 18, he’s came from the Swedish first division, a so called lesser league. And has played some absolutely breathtaking football, showed unbelievable grit, desire, determination and fortitude.

Just like the other two young lads. Dane Scarlett? We all wrote him off as soon as he went to Oxford United, the lad had come back a man possessed. Absolute credit to the badge.

Oyindamola Ajayi 19 years old, be honest had any of you even heard of this kid before he showed a piece of absolutely superb top 1% strikers killer instinct, touch move and shot. It was sublime.

That kid is definitely one to watch.

Djedi Spence…..whatever he learned in France worked for him because he is an absolute baller and due to him being left out of the European squad has been a standout performer.

I’ve highlighted some of the young lads absolutely thriving under Ange in great adversity.

But let’s not forget the senior lads who have played almost 3 months Thursday-Sunday, minimal training, constant pressure, so called fans who absolutely disgrace themselves with some of the stuff that comes out of their mouths.

And they are still fighting, every single game, Kulusevski, Son, Sarr, Porro, Davies, Bissouma, they are completely dead.

Running on empty, but we have fought very bravely every single match. And if you actually understood how unbelievably tiring playing every 3 days in the best league in the world you would see the fight, the heart, the desire, determination and spirit that I see.

Have we been whacked? Have we lost games by many goals, had no chances to score, not defended tooth and nail for everything?

Apart from against Livarpool who have been killing everyone the answer is no.

Ask yourself that? If this team didnt care, didn’t believe in Ange, didn’t care about the supporters do you think they would keep killing themselves every 3 days?

Have we not fought till the final whistle in every game?

I can’t understand how supporters, fans and plastic wankers can’t understand this. If you only have 3 days rest and the other team has 6 you can’t expect to match them physically in a straight battle.

Now add in 11 first team injuries, losing your starting goalkeeper, both starting Centre backs, one of your reserve centre backs, your starting left back, your best midfielder, your brand new 65million pound striker, and your highly rated exciting winger.

So now you can’t rotate any of the players that are playing every three days and every single match.

Why is it people can’t understand that we are being beaten because our team is basically fighting every game with one leg.

Please take a god damn look at yourselves, do you think you fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins or the bloody milkman. Whoever got you supporting this club, the purest football club in the world.

We are so committed to the beautiful game we have suffered ugly for many many years.

But ask yourselves what would those people who gave you the precious gift of your beloved Lilywhites be thinking about how you are supporting the club now??

Somehow I don’t think many of them would be proud, because there are a lot of people who say they support THFC that need to find a new club or stop whining like Tesco customers when they have to wait in line.

Honour your history, our history, honour your legacy, our legacy and fight through this pain.

Bollocks to our rivals, bollocks to the wanker pundits who couldn’t coach a pub side playing Sunday morning at Hackney marshes.

Every single coach in world football can see what Ange is trying to do. The players are killing themselves for you and you are literally crucifying them.

You underestimate the power of faith, it is always darkest before the dawn fellow Lilywhites. Unite, fight and watch this team rise from the ashes and bring back the glory to white Hart Lane,

I really enjoyed that Mick. Cheers.

Does he get them to perform some of the most basic pressing drills on the training ground and call it a day? We have not been leaking goals for the last 18 months because our back 5 is outrageously error prone, but because we can't nip attacks in the bud due to this chaotic running around disguised as pressing. Teams no longer feel the need to sit back and hit us on the counter like they were doing in earlier days of Ange's tenure, because they have simply figured out how to carve us open. Romero and VdV -especially the latter- not being able to go out there and perform heroics week in and week out exacerbated our defensive woes, but the root causes have always been our piss poor team shape and pressing schemes.

Kinsky's howler was not even the worst thing about the first goal for example. Rodgers found himself WIDE open in the centre of the pitch (how?), started dribbling into the space in front of him, realized that out of nowhere FOUR people running at full speed appeared on the scene (why?) yet somehow there was a straightforward pass to make (again, how?). Ramsey received the pass, shot, and scored. All this happened inside the first minute of a football match by the way, not in the 89th minute when we were desperately chasing a match or something. And this is not a one-off occurrence, it's been happening under every imaginable circumstance for the last 18 months.
It’s bcos the only defensive tactic Ange has ‘developed’ is VDVs pace. Said it ages ago that is our only plan. We have not worked on anything else. If we had we would see the high number of attempts against us even when we have all our players back.

People talk about the first 10 games, but last season we also went 16 league games Won 10, Drew 3, Lost 3. Certainly top 4 form.

We suffered 2 poor runs.

This is nonsense Harry. We played 38 PL games, 2 FA Cup and 1 League Cup match. Only 5 players played more than 30 PL matches. They can’t have been knackered. Leicester won the league 10 years ago with a virtually unchanged team. Our deficiencies last season were not due to tiredness. The second poor run we had at the end of the season Ange had virtually a fully fit squad to choose from. The reality was we came up against better coached sides with more effective managers

Deflecting criticism by hiding behind young players and guilt-tripping fans with “These 18/19-year-olds are doing their best, don’t you dare speak badly of them” is as cowardly as it gets, exactly what I’d expect from this gaslighting egomaniac.

The vast majority of criticism is aimed squarely at him, not the players. Yet, instead of addressing it head-on, he resorts to emotional manipulation and gaslighting to shield himself.

And as for the whole “It doesn’t bother me what people say about me” Of course it does. If it didn’t he wouldn’t be scrambling to dodge every ounce of scrutiny with this kind of transparent bullshit.

Such a grifter and he’s doing a real con job at this football club.

Can’t stand him.
100%. He gets such a soft ride from the media. All they have ask is why is Porro in the Villa half in minute 1 of an important FA cup game away from home to a top PL. team. Especially after having got thumped in the previous game. Simples!

Some good points but.....

the premier league is not a youth development league. The fans are paying top dollar. They're entitled to ask for quality ready-made players. This club should not only be in the mix for trophies, it should actually be winning them

Is this a parody? Being Ange in our out is irrelevant to supporting Tottenham. You can blame the manager, ENIC, both or neither for recent failures and still be Tottenham till I Die.

I'll tell you who isn't Tottenham till I Die, the group of fans who would stop supporting the club if Ange were sacked tomorrow.

The only thing to add is that Spurs have played 9 more games than Brighton this season.

Well, and who the injuries are to.

Missing your central back trio is significant.

Liverpool without Allison VDV and Konate for 4 months
Woolwich without Raya Gabriel and Saliba for 4 months

Makes a big difference - and for 100% we should still be doing much better than we have - but still
