Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

They always say a manager is only ever 10 matches from the sack

Lets give him 17 then. Since that win at Citeh

17 matches, 15 pts.

4 wins:

Saints (!)
Ipswich (!)
Brentford
ManU

ok so thats 2 nailed on for relegation, one with maybe the worst pts total ever in the PL. And ITFC couldve scored 3 in the first 10 mins.

Brentford - stole that one.

3 draws - at home to;

Fulham
Bmouth
Wolves

FFC and AFCB we were well beaten on balance of play. AFCB was a joke.
Wolves at the time almost in the relegation zone. I expect to lose to them soon and also for them to finish above us in the table. Ditto EFC and WHUFC both only a point behind us now.

I've looked at all the losses. I can't think of a single match where we've had the better of the game and deserved to get anything out of it.

Maybe the 1-2 v NUFC, they had a handball in the build up and thems the rules. Gets given sometimes. A draw wouldnt have been unfair on them.

OK thats one point. As against that we've been lucky with 8 eve gained.

Our form is diabolical but what I'm saying is that if you look at the matches closely it could well have been loads worse.

Last 10 home matches, its

1 win
3 draws
6 losses

0.6 pts per game

incudes playing rlegation certs Ips and Leics

17 matches 15 pts

again less than point a game.

All the recent stats are screaming relegation form yet there are bods out there who think it'll all be fine

one clown on twatter said we were better than the likes of Iraola as including all our matches we had a better win %age.

I asked him whether that included Tamworth as a win? No reply obv so the answers yes. These people are in a cult.

Right now I'd bet on us finishing 17th. Kept up only by the worst group of promoted clubs I've seen. ITFC were in Div 1 18 months bfore they got promotion FFS.

How on earth anyone with enough brain cells to eat and breathe enough to stay alive is still behind this joker is beyond me.
Absolutely fucking shocking form but even more shocking people still pretend to back him.
It is genuinely as mental as flat earth, it really is.

I'd bite your arm off for it.

OK theres a risk that he stays but the beginning of next season will be such a fiasco - PL, CL, and the league cup. We'll be dead on our feet come Novemeber and he'll be gone.

I think he'll be gone anyway, either this Int break or more likely during the Summer.

See above, I think we'r fininshing 17th.

The problem is, it fucks up next season and the replacement hunt again.
If we won it, he stays on. Either he gets a load of players that no one else will want, or he gets no one and the squad is paper thin. Lose-lose there. And if next season kicks off, the odds are any good replacement manager won't up and leave after 5-10 games of the new season. But even if they did they're going to inherit whatever AngeLoss leaves them.

Another season of absolute mediocrity and yet more disillusionment from any useful players left in the squad.
The longer this goes on the harder it will be to get back to being a top 6 side.

Imagine if we had an average keeper since Vicario returned instead of him. The games against Man United and Ipswich we probably should've lost but he made some incredible saves. We probably would've went out against AZ as well, as he kept the scoreline down in the first leg. The guy has probably single handedly saved Ange's job last month.

But we only lose by 1 goal

Some fans actually fucking say that

Ange will not be at Tottenham next year. People need to just hope for and enjoy any success that comes from the EL.

I think he will be sacked ( most likely) as soon as EL is finished. If by a miracle EL is won, I'm certain everyone happily parts company. It would be a win all round.

Tottenham management doesn't want to go through another year like this one. The supporters dont want to. And Ange would not want to either.

I'm 100 per cent certain this is Ange's last hurrah at this club. I hope he goes out a winner. That would be good for all that love the club.

Barring a monumental breach of conduct or multiple spankings like the end of AVB era, he's here until the last game regardless. Shocking we threw this season down the toilet when so many of us could see this shit coming a mile off by Nov/Dec last season.

Taking off Romero today was bordering on negligence, we all know Argentina are going to play him, so why mind him for them. It totally changed the game,we had the momentum and it totally killed it, but Ange has done this all season, killing games with stupid subs. He has finished me, cannot look at it anymore, holes all over the place, us looking vulnerable at the back while our full backs are further forward than our strikers, done with him, any have decent ball over the top opens us up, it's come to the stage where he has to be considered one of the worst in the premier League and def on of our worst ever.
Love his admission of failure when he brings on two subs at HT.

They are fighters. We are wussies, soft as fuck. Our players only care to enjoy our club's mattresses, canteen, gym and training facilities.

And the mentality Ange is selling so much to change with us? There, over at barcodes, not here. We shit away our opportunities and went limp at Liverpool after tough games in defeating the Manchester clubs and Liverpool 1st leg. We then threw away the Villa game in FA Cup when they weren't even that good.
His had nearly 2 years to change the mind set , philodophy, whatever you want to call it about winning mentality. He keeps banging on about that we are in a better position now then when he started. We finished 8th and his improved us. Yeah right to be joint 14/15/16 or whatever.

He'll win the EL and decide to leave of his own accord instead, while spitting venom about an extremely ungrateful and critical fanbase and an unsupportive chairman in a Conte-esque exit rant.

At least 3 more months of endless bickering about him in this thread will follow, as Levy continues in vain to search for a successor.

I think the replacement will come quickly because work is already happening.
I think we're actively trying not to look stupid again by going X many days searching.

48.2% since last season started.
Take away the first 10 games last season (77 games and 34 wins) that drops to 41.2%
This season PL only - 34%

Iraola.
Currently at 40.2% overall.
This season only in PL 41.4%

As always, single stats don't paint the full picture.

All that shows is Postecoglou had a good season last year and Iraola is having one this season.

Like for like in their time in the EPL, Postecoglou win % dumps all over Iraola

Postecoglous career win % also dumps all over Iraola, and please don't tell me Iraola has managed in better leagues, or in bigger games against bigger clubs or bigger tournaments. He simply hasn't.

Postecoglou should go but I'd be astonished if Iraola ends up winning anything.

Either the current squad is good enough or it isn't. It can't be good enough under Postecoglou ( and therefore its all his fault) but shit under the manager who takes over ( and therefore its the players fault).

Better leagues absolutely - Iraola spent 3 years with Rayo 2 in La Liga after getting them promotion.

Won the Cypriot championship with Larnaca and is now at Bournemouth. He is 42.

Ange is 59 and has had nearly 2 seasons in a top league. Aside from Spurs he has managed the strongest side by a long way in Scotland, managed in the J league and managed in Australia - none of that gets close to the Spanish league, you are talking nonsense.
