This could be many times in any game from the last 18 months. You can't play football and expect to win games when you're facing this situation time and again.

That’s the game that perfectly demonstrates Anges shortcomings more than any other, everything about that game showed a manager out of his depth.

It also showed players aren't doing the obvious thing too often. I find it hard to believe they're all too stupid to be cautious. And that it's the players fault for such frequent, and identical brain farts.
It's the tactics. It's always been the tactics. I think Spence has even alluded to players doing what they're told to do whether they agree with it or not.
When a play pays off and we score. The fanbois are out in force saying it was a tactical masterstroke. But when it fails, as it so often does, it's the players fault.

Brighton 1st half really good, 2-0 up, they just make a couple of tweaks at H/T and strolled to a win without much effort. At soon as it went 2-1 it felt inevitable what would happen and Postecoglou did nothing, no tactical changes, no subs until too late.
Chelsea, started well enough, 2 slips from them and 2-0 up. Do we go more cautious, sit deeper and hit them on the counter? Just a thought, but when you know that Maddison has shit stamina, which is something you could've figured out after only a couple training sessions...well maybe you could've put him on a special conditioning program the past 12ish months? May also help if he stopped coming so deep, pretending to be Pirlo or Xavi. Not arguing with the refs constantly would help save his energy too.
As for Sonny, go figure...maybe if he didn't start or play 90 week in week out, maybe he'd be a bit fresher come crunch time. You do realise Frankfurt's gameplan was to sit back & counter?
